I’m just really hoping synthetic fuel actually happens.
I'm going to start hoarding my french fry oil, and also the oil from my friends and family.
that's not going down the drain anymore, nor will it be free to the wacky guy down the street who's running an old diesel bus on it.
Can't wait to start my Facebook marketplace ad, offering it for sale at 3X the price i purchased it for.

But just watch and wait, good ol' capitalist America will be pushing more deep fried foods to fill the orders for used french fry oil. Still killing us slowly directly by clogging our arteries, as well as forcing farmers to drive more tractors to farm more canola to convert to fuel.

I highly recommend buying a generator and having fuel on hand. If you’re really in California your Nazi Newsom is go to be playing lots of games with your hydro. Vote wisely November 8th Cali!

Very impressed with the Model Y Long Range. 320 miles of range, the Tesla network here is smaller, but also less congested. My next car will definitely be a Tesla, probably in under 5 years. I'll still have the ranger for my ICE needs, but man, those things are absolutely RAD. Makes long drives fly by.

Tons of storage too, will easily fit a double stroller, groceries, ect. I can charge at home, so I'm not really worried about charging. 300 Miles gets me where I want to go other than longer road trips or towing, for which I will have the Ranger.

Like the saviors of the planet, Biodiesel and ethanol? Those still emit CO2 when burned, maybe not as much as fossil fuels. But then again, it takes more ethanol to do the work of gasoline.

Tesla super chargers cost 10K. You knew that right? A regular charger at home is around $400 but they take hours to charge. Think wiring has to be 20 amp too
Yes, supercharger on the road but overnight charging at home works for 80% of drivers. The future is EV.

Yes and also about 3 times the cost too huh? What a silly comparison...

When that Rivian runs out of power 30 miles from a charging station Ill be sure to give them a tow...

In 5 years your new Tesla will have much greater than 320 mile range. Right now, the only thing stopping me from buying a Tesla is the range.

They’re pushing the future is EV but once you do your homework and realize that it’s a big money grab and worse for the environment that you’re supposedly trying to protect. You do realize the carbon footprint to make one of these things far exceeds the returns. I’m not even getting into the nonexistent recycling of them

But they harvest CO2 to create it, so it’s still carbon neutral. And as others have said, even if it reached 85% efficiency, that’s still loads better than what lithium mines and lithium ion batteries do to the environment. It’s like saying “nuclear energy is clean if you ignore all of the radioactive waste it generates.”

Also, I’m reasonably certain Elon Musk is a supervillain.

All businesses are in business to make money. Call it whatever you want.

There are numerous start up companies that are doing EV battery recycling. So NO, it is not "nonexistent"

Not everyone buys a EV because they are tying to save the environment. The technology of EV, whether for yard work, tools or transportation is very cool technology.

No, it is not for everyone, but with the current sales of EV it is a viable business technology

This right here. Bought an EV bc driving 50k miles per year is expensive when buying gas and maintenance. Also the lane keeping tech is the most advanced out of any company.

Spent less on EV in 3+ years than I spent in 1 year of oil changes for the ranger

This popped up on my Facebook today from a friend. I have no data to claim if any of its true or not.
However, I can say my current government is trying to bankrupt us with carbon taxes, forcing us to buy EV's that they have a stake in battery production (you can google that for reference) and that most people cannot afford to buy in the first place, to save Nova Scotia from another hurricane.
To dream of continuing to drive an ICE vehicle for long trips and save the planet with an EV is impossible. I could only do it if I lived with 30 relatives in a 3 bedroom home in Brampton.
Our government drank the Koolaid.

Big money grab, I agree but that's the case with any new industry but politics are absolutely pushing it along unnecessarily. Worse for the environment is debatable but I see your point. I agree on the mining for battery materials but in 10 to 15 years they will be recycling old batteries. Tesla already has a procees to break down and separate the lithium, cobalt, aluminum and other materials from old batteries.
I'm not trying to protect the environment by any means but I'm not against being responsible. I'm 100% conservative but can see the future of electric in everything. Kind of how battery powered tools and lawn equipment is taking over. I also prefer beer to wine. ?

Agreed, hence why i'm not pushing it as absolute truth.
I have however been involved indirectly with the mining industry, and that tells me its not utter hogwash either. There is a serious disconnect with batteries, of any kind, being environmentally friendly. There is as big of a negative, as there are positives.
