Ford's Blue Oval City has broke ground and is expected to be completed by 2025. The 4,100 acre site will produce electric truck and vehicle batteries. It's nice to see this being built right here in the USA! :flag:

I am perplexed. We are preparing to build millions of cars and trucks without a power source. Power plants of the size required and the supporting infrastructure are not built overnight. I foresee a whole bunch of large doorstops in the future. Our power grid is barely sustaining power to the present population. We have two obvious choices - build more power generating plants or get rid of people. And they are not building more plants! Hmmm....

Man, don't be a naysayer! WWIII is starting, along with a worldwide economic depression. People are committing capital crimes and are being released from jail without bail. People are also receiving Life prison sentences for clear cases of self defense. The FBI is arresting people 'at will' just like the former KGB - Gestapo did. Food Crisis is coming.......

But, I will survive!!!

Newest update on the new Ford Blue Oval Site. This will be very impressive once finished and a real huge boom for surround areas.

https://fordauthority.com/2022/12/more-ford-blueoval-city-construction-stats-released/

Ford has released some interesting statistics about the BlueOval City complex as it continues to come to fruition, according to Commercial Appeal.

The Haywood County, West Tennessee site has already been transformed in a major way, with enough soil moved away to fill the Hoover Dam in Nevada not once, but twice. In its place, construction crews have put down 800,000 tons of stone – which is equivalent to 3,555 Statues of Liberty, and those crews have also poured enough concrete to fill the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga 29 times.

Meanwhile, construction workers have installed 7,500 deep foundations, which are approximately 60 feet long and are used to stabilize the building. If placed end-to-end, those foundations would equal five round trips to the peak of Mount Everest. Finally, a grand total of 18,000 tons of steel have been erected, which is equal to the total weight of 18 cargo ships.

When production begins in 2025, BlueOval City will span 3,600 acres and employ 5,800 workers. The site alone is expected to cost around $5.6 billion when it’s all said and done, with both an Electric Vehicle Center and BlueOval SK battery plant located on-site. As for future production vehicles, BlueOval City is expected to build both a future Ford F-Series EV model, as well as an all-electric version of the Ford Bronco, as Ford Authority reported last week.

Part of me wonders if they could build more vehicles to sell if they weren't trying to build a city.

One has nothing to do with the other and I don't see what that has to so with building vehicles? I mean it's two different industries plagued by different shortages with different developers. Even if the Blue Oval site wasn't going on Ford would still be having the problems it does now building vehicles. To many orders and not enough parts. It's not like the assembly workers are out driving the dozers. lol

Of course I realize this.

But watching Ford operate today doesn't give much hope for the future.

True, it could be a nice fancy new development with all the same issues. Hopefully something changes and fast because this whole country is going into a tailspin.

I guess they didn't learn about dedicated complexes from Fordlandia.
