Guys, it’s all good.

But I think I am going to have to be well enough to make dinner for Mary, before I break it to her that you were kidding….

I mean, she definitely doesn’t look like Flounder, but I do recall the distant look of “This is going to be great!”, when she thought you were on your way and I was going to be drifting somewhere over Greenland in a dream that night…. :)

Mary went to college at Kentucky and spent summer vacations on the Keys, did I mention she was a party girl?

I will take you up on the recipes, just as soon as my coach let’s me back in the kitchen.

We have this great fish monger here, a little hole in the wall (sells a lot to the restaurants in the area). The owner and I swap recipes, he is so great, he always acts like he hasn’t seen my idea before….

We may be eating some Columbia River Salmon tonight, if he gets any, supply is been hard on him too. Mary is heading over this afternoon to check.

That sounds incredible, I like to make a homemade teriyaki salmon, soy honey ginger a tad of maple syrup sesame oil rice wine vinegar and the secret ingredient truffle oil also pepper garlic powder onion powder and the usual seasonings minus salt marinate the fish and then put a bit of the pepper garlic and onion on it and sear it in cast iron, once you flip all the pieces maintain the heat and pour in the marinade to cool the pan and help permeate the fish and cook it through and it gives you a lovely sauce to pair with garlic mashed potatoes lol. I usually eyeball and taste as i make instead of doing measurements but if you want I can give you a rough idea.

We cook the exact same way, by feel, versus measuring spoons, cups, etc. Mary is the actual executive chef in the household, I am just an understudy.

She will usually get one of my or her ideas and tune it in and then, after that, I will do the monkey see, monkey do thing from then on.

It is going good Paul, thanks for asking.

I am semi ambulatory with the walker, like 20 mins up, 2 hours down. I have overdone It (multiple times :() and get reminded pretty quickly it wasn’t a wisdom tooth I had out, but honestly, way beyond my wildest expectations.

I think the biggest issue I have had (it took me a while to figure it out) is all the meds they give you. Between the Tramadol and the mega steroids, I swap between euphoria and ‘roid rage on the flip of a switch.

I got into an argument (pretty loud on my side) with my wife last night and she just started laughing. Which of course made me madder. She finally said, “honey, it’s the Steroids!” Of course I knew she was right instantly, as I fought to keep myself in my mental straight jacket. ;)
Steroids do that........make someone have a short temper. Good med......Bad med.

It really is bad. If I am slightly hungry, I will all of a sudden feel super anxious, look down and my hands will be shaking and I will be sweating bullets.

I think maybe I didn’t notice it first few days because I was so doped up on the opiates amd maybe the soreness from the surgery.

I am trying to stay very consistent in my icing and walking intervals, as I think they use the stuff to help in the swelling and healing. I am hoping when I see the doc next time, if the swelling is almost gone, he will let me start tapering off the stuff.

Yeah it's a good med and really helps.......side effects are nasty with some and looks like it got you pretty well! The 'hungry' feeling is Prednisone too.......wanna eat everything in the cupboard then pull off the cupboard doors and eat them too! All will be better when you get off the stuff.

That is EXACTLY how it feels, especially the cupboard doors.

Funny because when I'm on Prednisone I don't find myself hungry at all just very, very irritable. Like someone can ask me a question and I'll rip their head off. Plus I can not sleep! That stuff makes me so jittery and antsy I'll lay in bed all night and stare at the ceiling, my mom is the same way. Annie forget it, she can take it and pass right out.
