Nice color! My 1995 F150 was that same color, Bright metallic Saphire.

I had the 4.0 OHV in my '99 B4000 4x4, 5sp manual. Averaged 18 MPG when I sold it at 235,000 miles.
This was my 1st Ranger...1999 B4000, auto tranny, Forest green...

Yeah my Ranger is just about the same size as my first F150 which was a '97. I really hope they don't get to much larger because the one thing I love about them now is they're the perfect size for most everyday stuff and work and they still fit in the garage.
That's why I'm considering a Maverick when it's time to retire my Ranger. I figure by then it will be the size of the current Ranger. :like:

Im not sure of the sales numbers on the Ranger versus the S10 back then , I assume pretty close or slightly more S10's sold ?, but now with the ones still on the road it has to be 20 to 1 ...or more ... pretty rare to see S10 around here , I mean any worth looking at , LOTS of Rangers still rolling ? around and looking DAMN good doing it... I'm not sure if any Dakota's are still around ?, never see those...

I've posted it before but every time the threads come up about old Rangers, I get all misty eyed over this one.

I regret selling it.

1989 Supercab, 6" lift, 33x12.50 tires.

Originally it was the 2.9/FM146 driveline but I swapped in a '92 4.0 and an M5OD transmission.

It had seats from a Thunderbird Turbocoupe (they bolted right in!) and was just an all around terrific truck.

Hi NB,

In 2001, my Financial Planning volume was 340,000 units. I think S10 was well below this...

Best,
Phil

Seeing that makes me want to sell my current ranger to buy it from you.
I brought a chair, snacks, and water - where does that line start?

Here's my 2009...
First pic is the day I brought it home in 2018, after it was "gifted" to my by our little old neighbor who's husband had passed away. We watched over her and I did odd jobs around her house up until the time when she went to an assisted living facility. Only had a bit over 22,000 miles.
Second pic is just before I sold it just after I bought the 2021. Was sad to sell it but got an unreal amount of $$$ for it.

Right Steve, the 4g Rangers are super popular. Several Dealers told me they had waiting lists of people who wanted them. I traded my 2011 in on the 2020 one evening about closing time. Went back the next morning an hour after opening time to finalize the paperwork and the 2011 was gone before they even had a chance to prep it! I had the sunken feeling that I'd made a serious mistake but in time realized that it was the right move and absolutely no regrets with the 5g!

I bought this '00 4x2 S/Cab brand new in Nov. '99, it had the 4.0 OHV V6 mated to a 5 speed automatic with a final drive ratio of 3.23. It proved to be a very peppy low end combination, however any request for more speed above 60 mph only resulted in more noise and needless thrashing of metal.

The truck did serve me well in the 20 years I owned it, in retrospect I am very glad it did not have Fords 4.0 OHC design motor, what was Ford thinking in having to remove the engine in order to service the timing chain components?

I sold it in Dec. 2019 to make way for my '20 Lariat, it barely had 94K miles on it.

The same thinking they have when it's necessary to remove the entire cab to repair some of the diesel F250/F350's.

The engineers thinking "It meets the specs that were called for. Servicing it is not my problem."

Or more likely, separate groups of engineers designing different parts of the vehicle and never the twain shall meet.
