This is true, for me. But, I love to take pictures. Camera phones do a great job, but there are some things a phone can't mimic.

Yup. I think most of phone camera pictures rely on awesome algorithms. On many cellphones pics I do see the over saturation, over sharpening and all that. If you pull a RAW out of phone camera it's more like something which you got from D30 in middle of the night.

My biggest 'complaint' is compression. A phone can't get the compression of a real camera and lens.

The first picture was taken with a phone, right next to me and my camera. The second is my camera.

those mountains got awefully big

Its cropped differently, but you can tell everything looks 'closer' to the subject.

I cropped the phpne picture the same.
