When I first brought home my black Ranger Tremor, I cleaned it up myself. I told them not to clean it. Anyway, I washed it and during that time the cloudy day that was supposed to stay cloudy all day long, sprang a bunch of sunshine. So, you guessed it, I got water spots all over the hood. I later hand waxed it and the damn water spots did not wax out

So, I found I had some water spot remover from Meguiar's. I just spent about 30 minutes with this stuff and 99% of the water spots are gone from the hood. I will need to look at it in the sunshine tomorrow and catch any spots I may of missed. However I am extremely impressed with this product.
:like:

Anyone else use this stuff? Or what is your trick to avoid water spots on a dark vehicle?
Thanks!

I've never used that but heard it works very well which you just found out. Now if you want to make your life even easier just use the 303 Graphene Nano Spray and you won't get those water spots in the first place. ?

... or leave it in the garage with the damper in the trash can. absolutely no water spots ever

I have always had good experiences with any meguier's products. I use hybrid ceramic stuff when I do wash the truck

Tell you what Dave, when I first brought home the Ranger, I think the guys moving it from the muddy storage lot to wherever they move them to board the railcars, they must of had a blast in my Tremor because my truck was full of mud, everywhere. No way IMHO that any detailer would of cleaned it. I darn near got out my pressure washer it was so bad.
But on your advice, I will pick up some detailer, 303 Graphene Nano Spray, one of these days!!!

I have a lot of detailing supplies that I bought when I had my Shelby GT500. I also have a DA polisher which I could of used this late afternoon. However just hand applying it did the trick for me. Not sure why you have to use it with a hand polisher.... But I understand that you could and it might go faster and easier.

I tried by hand at 1st. It didn't work. This was on my previous vehicle. The longer you leave water spots in the sun, the harder it is to remove.

My understanding is that water spots are either excess wax, unpolished dried wax spots or calcium oxide spots. First two are fixed with polishing cloth and the latter is fixed by using Ph5.5 or less water on last rinse which makes it form calcium acetate which doesn't stick to the surface.

Anyway, I don't give a damn about water spots outside the windshield. Driving on gravel/sand road and clay fields makes washing the truck petty useless exercise anyway. It's dirty 50 yards after leaving the parking spot.
