Age - Not 50...yet!
First Ford and car - 1979 Ford Mustang LX with an inline 6. (horrible orangeish/bright red color)
My dad was a big time Chevrolet guy with several Chevelles, Novas, and El Caminos. So OF COURSE I had to rebel and went Ford. Owned, built, and raced several mustangs, cobras, and lightnings in my time. Sadly, to make room I just sold my 90 fox. Been with Ford the last 30 years and wouldn't have it any other way!

Hi Jim,

I was part of the birth of Ranger in the days before 1982½. Rangers are near and dear to my heart! Enjoy your 2022 Ranger when delivered! It has a hertiage of being Ford Tough and delivering for the long haul like your 94 did....

Best,
Phil
My favorite was my 86 standard cab 4x4 6 foot bed. 2.3 fuel injection. Great little truck I put that little truck through hell and back. Looking forward to the 22.

Age 57. I first learned to drive when I was 8 years old. It was a 66 Karmann Ghia dune buggy that my Dad had. I don't remember how it was done, but a 12" section was removed from the middle of the front section and then welded back together to shorten the wheelbase. The rear had about 6" removed to expose the motor. Of course, it had the latest suspension, tires, and motor enhancements for circa 1972 to tackle our local desert here in SoCal :). I used to drive it around just outside of camp. They used to call me Lurch because I had a hard time reaching the clutch and was not very smooth with it.

My first car was a 1965 Ford Falcon 2-door sedan that I got for my 15th birthday.

I'm 67, my first ford was a rusted 65 6cyl Mustang, my 2nd Ford was a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac which I bought new. I still have it and still driving it as my beater. I just bought a 2021 Ford Ranger Larat at the end of December of 2021 and it currently has just over 400 miles as I didn't drive it in the winter because of the salt here.

Hey yall, this is a fun thread, thanks to whoever started it!

I'm 24 years old and I learned to drive in my mom's Toyota Sienna van! My first official car after getting my license was a teeny little Kia Forte. Had a 2010 Jeep Patriot after that which was unreliable junk.

I knew I wanted a Ford truck one day after having the opportunity to drive three different F-150s, all belonging to fathers of various friends of mine... My 2021 Ranger XL supercab is my first Ford & I hope to drive it as long as she lasts. With the awesome experience I've had so far, it's difficult to see myself getting something other than a Ford truck when I'm older. Maybe when I have kids one day I'll upgrade to a future generation SuperCrew Ranger.

It seems like I'm on the younger side on this forum, so I'm hoping I can pick up some good life advice & car advice from some of you older folks!

72 years old. Learned to drive, and got my "restricted" at age 14 in my dad's 1960 Chevy Impala Stationwagon.
Had saved money from lawn mowing and paper routes, and in 1964 bought my first car, a 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint, 260 V-8, 4 barrel, 4 speed, dual exhaust, from factory.
Dad had to co-sign as I was still under age, but paid cash for it. No Mustangs were available as they were all spoken for, for at least several months.
Kept it until I went into Navy in 1967.
Have probably owned 50 or so vehicles since then...bought till I tired of it and sold, bought something else to play with. Kept some for a few months, others for several years.
Current...2021 Ranger Lariat and 2018 Subaru Outback Touring.

1st Ford was a 1977 Ranchero GT. 351 Windsor, Black with gray interior and stripes. Had this little cubby behind the driver's seat that was perfrct for hiding a case of beer. Bought used for about $3,200.
Learned to drive an IH tractor of some type. Super A, C or maybe a 300. Don't recall, but was very young. Dad had to mount a block on the clutch pedal for me to reach it.
Ranger is a 21 XLT

Someone must have yanked the 351M that these came from the factory with and replaced it with a 351 Windsor small block...

First Ford: '65 Mustang notchback, 289 4V, Borg Warner T-10 close ratio 4 speed (was a hand me down 2X). Overhauled the engine in '75, bored out .030 over to 292 CID, mild cam, shortened 9" locker from an Econoline, 31 spline axles. Would turn consistent high 14's on street tires
Learned how to drive stick on my Dad's '47 Ford panel delivery, flathead V8 with a non-synchromesh 4 speed, I was 12 years old.

Come to think of it, I think you're right. Pretty sure it was a 351M.

I typed too fast, without thinking much. Was quite a while back. We were about 6 of us who hung around and 4 of us had Rancheros. 77s and 79s. 302s and 351s. We nicknamed these things Ponchos.

Good times, back then.
