Putco Lower Grill insert. My only challenge was that I do not have a front plate bracket or bolts. I had to find some spare bolts in my pile that matched the thread size and pitch.

I'll order some replacements.

Swapped plugs to NGK 6510.

Tomorrow is fixing exhaust leaks along the system, created (one for sure, but going to just replace all clamps) when installing the downpipe, using new clamps and permatex.

Received and installed a new tailgate oval and camera housing, which was the only chrome/blue on the exterior of the truck (with the exception of the exhaust tips). Always bugged me a bit.

I went with Magnetic for the housing and surround to match my flares, bumpers etc….Cactus Gray and matte black on the oval. I’m impressed with the workmanship, the paint job appears to be top notch

A little bit pricier than than the stock colors available out there, but I couldn’t find one without “gloss” black on it. I don’t have anything glossy on the truck, so I figured if I’m gonna spend I might as well go custom. I think it was about a $50 premium over the ones on the bay. I’ll post a link for anyone interested.

Someone asked about the install. Very easy. I used a very small flathead in the notch on the underside to open a gap between the top oval and housing, then used plastic trim tools to work my way around the perimeter. By the time I reached the top side it just popped off. Two screws hold the housing in place and it’s pretty straightforward from there. However, I’ll add two additional notes regarding removal:

1) there’s a screwed-on brace holding the camera in place. Remove that before trying to dislodge the camera.

2) the tabs that seat the camera need to be pressed inward to release it…..not pulled out. If you want to retain the original housing you can’t make the mistake of trying to flare them out, they’re fragile as shit.

Also, pay attention and note how the camera is oriented in the housing. There’s only one way it’ll work, but it took me a little trial and error to get it seated properly.

Apologies for the long winded post. It may be extremely remedial stuff for a lot of folks but I figured I’d toss it out there anyway.

PS: the “design your own” template in the link is confusing. At least it confused the crap outta me. I couldn’t even find an option for front/rear oval. I wound up just emailing the company and telling them exactly what I wanted. They wrote it up and sent me a proof and invoice the same day.

Oh....wait until you decide to change out your muffler and pipes. You'll be needing your nap afterwards because you'll be "exhausted." ?

Just installed the AVS Bugflector II. It was the second easier mod (yes the damper is #1) I've done and took about 15 minutes to instal. No hood adjustment needed and it looks great, wish I did this long ago! Thanks to all who posted the videos and links to help me spend more money! lol :curse:

Dave , i’m about 10 minutes behind you, I received and installed my Bugflector 2 hood shield, and I am with you, thank you very much to the videos posted to show me how to do this without problems, only problem I had was using my left shoulder, recovering from rotator cuff surgery. Tough getting above 90° with my left hand. But you know I wasn’t gonna just sit there and look at the box. A few more pics,
