You can and should bitch after spending that amount of money, sounds like you think you can't bitch about it?
Cant recall when I wrote that, but the circumstances have changed as a lot of us have positive equity in our vehicles. For me its time to make a change, took a job last year that includes the use of a company furnished vehicle. So mine just sits with a cover on it in my heated garage with 22k miles on it. Still need a vehicle for 'personal' use so I'm thinking about downsizing to a small crossover and roll the equity of $6k-8k into that sale.

I installed these lights from Amazon last night. Getting the OEM lights out was the hardest part. I used a small flat head screwdriver and some patience. I'll just echo what everyone else is saying, these make a huge difference.

Looks like cold solder joints. Could probably be repaired very easy.
Yeah, probably cheap mfg. I have worked with circuit boards from many companies over the years. If you pay for cheap outsourcing, you get cheap quality boards. You can get high quality circuit boards with enhanced mfg practices if you pay for it. Many simple designs do not require it.
If a circuit board is expected to be exposed to the elements, or where it be exposed to tools, you can use conformal coating. It is a durable water proof, chemical resistant thin electrically insulating coating applied to the surface of circuit boards.

The very mention of the shit just made my nose tingle.

I spent a few years doing component level repair of 5ESS grid and switch boards after tech school. The very thought of putting an iron to a conformal coated board makes me twitch a bit. I hated working on that stuff. BUT... it does it's job well!
