Well, at least Ford is giving a little back. They just told Bronco order holders that the built-in nav system is no longer available. And, there was no "you'll get it latter", or "here's your 695 bucks off the LUX package price". That right there is the nail in the coffin for me. I know I can use my damn phone, but I'm hard headed and want what I want. I've gave up the hard top, the tow package, and the 2.7L already. My bronco is now a stripped down version I wouldn't buy off the lot. Damnit Ford.................
I agree. Make the vehicles how people ORDERED THEM!! Less vehicles made is fine! If any manufacturer starts making half ASS products, consumers won't tolerate it long and it will definitely effect bottom line. Make fewer cars correctly than double the amount incorrectly!! WTF :lipssealed: :headbang:

Update: Ford has denied that the 2022 Ford Bronco will lose the optional navigation system in May. “The 2022 Ford Broncos will continue to be built with navigation,” Ford spokesperson Jiyan Cadiz told Carscoops. “We are looking at many options to help get vehicles to our customers sooner during this global shortage of semiconductor chips.”

My July 2020 reservation Bronco Badlands with Lux pkg will probably be a Big bend with mid pkg by the time Ford builds it :(

One thing though Benny, you won't have to worry about dat ASS. :bandit:

Yeah, I wrote it like that 'cause it just worked out really good.

Ummm, that must have been Putin's boys hacking the system..........:)

Oops, I should have read the story first. In this release Ford is talking about the "connected Nav system" that is subscription based. The "built-in", or old style nav system (in the LUX package option) wasn't mentioned in the article. We'll see...........................

NO, I'm not buying this.
There's something else going on here.

We all seemed to think FORD had this ASS to meet GOV fuel economy specs.
And some of us didn't like it, so we pontificated, ad nauseum, how to shut it off.
And NOW, FORD is simply charging us $50 to shut it off?
NO, I'm not buying this.
Well you don’t have to buy anything because it’s a $50 credit, it’s not a charge.

Depending on how you drive it might be worth it. I hated it at first. Gas went up. I turned it back on and learned a few quirks to make it less annoying and I am seeing a 2mpg gain. I have some math and another post to make on that so I don't jack this one.

Take away. Live in a city like Houston and it might be worth it down the road.

And now that I have LED headlights it helps me alert the turd in front of me who is on the phone to go when they obviously flicker at them.

I'm all the more happy it's not on my new truck, as it has never worked on my F-150 very consistently. And more annoyingly, I can feel it sometimes trying to kick in but it never does. So I gave up on it. Dealer can't find anything wrong, so after my Ranger is finally delivered, that F-150 will be someone else's, and I'll happily do without it on my Ranger ?

I love mine. Had it on both my 19s. Now on my 22 I got last week. Got in before cut. The area I live in, saves me big time on fuel. We can debate it either way but unless you live in my area. Not worth debating. When I want to off, I press and hold pedal. When I don't want it to shut off, I come to a stop and let off pedal slightly. No hack or removal need. I enjoyed 23-25 in my rural area. See the 22 heading that way as well. Maybe some reason, people are in mid teens. I wouldn't take 50.00 for something that will cost you more in fuel down the road. Easy to remove but get something removed that completely was removed is another horse.

All my fuel mpg are hand calculated

Auto Start Stop - another solution to a question no one asked apparently.....
You are joking right? It definitely helps out a very real problem.

You are entitled to not like how it feels or various other concerns, but to deny that it doesn't help get better fuel mileage and the benefits that provide? Laughable.

I'm glad that my new truck will not have ASS. My wife's car has it and I hate it. You pull into the driveway and stop and the engine stops. You then put it into park and the engine starts. It has a display on the instrument panel that shows you how much gas it has saved on the tank of gas. For a tank of gas when doing mostly city driving it is like maybe a 1/10th of a gallon.

I am showing a 2mpg gain over a full tank of fuel. On the starting when putting it in park I just shut it off in drive if I see the green A and then shift to park after that. That last bit does seem a bit weird, but Ill take the 2mpg in my large city driving - math says it is worth it.

The idea of buying a truck and expecting great fuel mileage is not realistic. Trucks are big heavy boxy vehicles meant to complete tasks sleeker cars and suvs can’t. Anyone that does a true mpg check while driving normally will be disappointed in the results with or without Auto SS.
