Did they get your order right? If so, then move on. It's a name on a receipt to tie your to your order, not a legally binding document. Seems like a strange thing to get in a wad over. Some people don't spell great. Some people don't love their jobs. Sometimes they're one in the same. :/

My local grocery store has a deli dept. They are a good employer of high school kids and have a generous if challenging scholarship program (employed 4 consecutive yrs= $1500 scholarship/military bonus). For a brief time, they had a girl behind the counter who was not quite up to converting fractions to decimals. I would order a half pound of pastrami and a third pound of ham or turkey, as I'm the only one in the household that eats it and any more than this spoils. I'd place my order for a third pound of Virginia ham and she would take her tongs and put a heap on the scale. 1.265lb. "is that OK?" "No, that's way over" I say. she takes some off: .816lb. "is that OK?" "Ah, no, I only want a third pound." Another customer who is going impatient with the situation says, "He wants dot-three-three-three-pounds!" The lights came on in her eyes and she removes ham until .335 shows on the display and I say "That's good right there!" She gives me an "omg why didn't you just say so" look.

To be fair, I think we are not doing an adequate job of preparing young people
to be practically literate. My 10 year-old grand daughter can do long division on my iPhone's calculator but struggles solving it on paper. Palmer method script writing is no longer taught in our school system.
Rant closed. I'm going to go make a dot-one-two-five-lb pastrami sandwich. Sheesh.

you sir, are correct. It is not that one generation is stupid or not capable of basic things. Some folks are just ignorant of things. That ignorance is typically the fault of schools and the generation of politicians running the school.

im annoyed with the generations ahead of mine. They should have put a stop to some of the bs that society now has to deal with early. They did not. now we have the results lol. I can include myself as part of the problem.

This is fun, I just have to chime in. Graduated college in 2017, was a waiter at a Longhorn Steakhouse. It paid the bills for my wife and I. Would definitely never go back though. Some of the worst guests were late 30s+. Sorry I did not cook your steak perfect. ? Oh the stories.

i bet you had some real jerks. i could not handle a job like that. some people are just so damn rude. i always try to be nice to servers. most of them are over worked, under paid. maybe its my up bringing or just self protection but i know never to be rude to nurses or anyone bringing you food or working on your belongings lol.

At a sit down restaurant so much is completely out of your control. Kitchen is backed up, or management decides they’re going to run with a skeleton crew(One time I had 9 tables at once, didn’t go so well)..

These days I’m in the Quality Engineering profession, so it was rich being called stupid living in a state nearly dead last in education (Alabama). ?

Obviously just had to bend over, smile, and take it.

It like the old guys complaining Young people don’t know how to drive a stick shift. Where would they find one? It’s your generation that killed them. The original muscle car is the GTO, created in 1964. In GTO’s automatic transmissions outsold the manuals starting in 1966. Blame that on millennials I dare you.
It’s your generation that created everything good and bad you don’t like in the newer generations.

you know, a good amount of logic exists in that! im not a baby boomer by a long stroll and not a z and would likely take some offense at being called a gen z. i was growing up watching all the old cool stuff go away and being sad about it. so for those in the range of say mid 30 ish to early 50 ish you know what i mean. you are old enough to remember and like things like a manual transmission or the sound of a v8 without the fake engine noise electronically blasted inside the cabin. you know about pay phones or phone books. meeting dates face to face instead of online. but some how your (our) parents / grand parents allowed the cool stuff to slip away. sold out. example a lot of older folks dont like hippies. mkay, why didnt they stamp those fools out in the beginning. by the time you could get a job and afford the cool stuff it was basically gone or outside of your means. so i feel like a lot of folks like me are sorta the middle step child in all this. to be fair, the baby boomer generation did pretty much invent or at least refine most of what is still cool today.
im not grumpy. gimme an american muscle car that is fast deep and loud and looks like sex on wheels with a manual transmission and fuel i can afford, then i will be good.
one day my generations kids well be pissed at me for allowing cd players and contact sports to go away or short shorts, cheer leaders or binary rest rooms lol.
