Has anyone enabled "Chimes - Traffic Sign Recognition Overspeed" in IPC module?

I enabled Traffic Sign Recognition using FORScan and am very happy with how it works. While enabling the setting in IPC Module I notice another setting "Chimes - Traffic Sign Recognition Overspeed" which I did not enable but am curious about it's function. Has anyone enabled this and if so is it a one-time beep to alert that threshold speed has been exceeded or a continuous beep until below threshold speed? IF the former this may be useful - I definitely do not want a continuous beep.

I am pretty conservative with only making FORScan mods that have been vetted and have not seen any mention of this in the forum so checking for feedback before I test myself.

Thanks!

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Ditto, I would have turned off the 3 startup chimes too but it's a little more involved.
Just go to IPC (as built) look for HEX 720-01-02 and change the XXXX to X2XX, that will turn them off, piece of cake :)

You can also turn off the welcome/goodbye backlighting while in there HEX 726-03-02, change XXX4 to XXXX. Be sure to keep a record of your changes.

UPDATE: I enabled "Chimes - Traffic Sign Recognition Overspeed" in IPC and can confirm it emits a single chime (beep) if the set threshold speed is exceeded. Very subtle, will definitely keep.

I was reading up on the UK version of this and it says that the adaptive cruise functions with this as well.

so lets say you're doing 80km/h and it reads a 60km/h sign, it slows you down until it reads another 80km sign and speeds you back up.

cool feature i might say.
does this foreskin change have that effect or no?
Interesting, was not aware that it would work with adaptive cruise control in that manner. Will evaluate later this afternoon and report back

My MY22 Bronco Sport with Copilot 360 reads the signs and adjusts the ACC speed accordingly.

Once the foreskin is changed it's really hard to change it back. Just sayin' ??

Went for a short drive to test. Both ACC and Traffic Sign Detection are working independently as expected but are not influencing each other

Consider this...

When you're traveling along in a 55 mph zone and come up on a speed limit sign for a school zone, the truck recognizes the new speed limit. When you hit the end of the school zone, you typically (at least in my area, maybe not for yours) only have a "End School Zone" sign, no speed limit sign. The truck thinks the speed limit is still 45 mph.

The other scenario I ran up against was driving on the interstate. The truck sees a 70 mph speed limit sign and we're good. A mile or so down the road is sees a MINIMUM speed limit sign and recognizes that as a new speed limit of 40 mph.

I ended up turning off the sign recognition. Your mileage may vary, if your area is different.

Both good points for consideration. I am definitely OK with the truck providing a non-obtrusive notification that the speed limit has changed (especially wrt a school zone). Being aware of that fact, pretty sure I would be keeping an eye out for both kids and an end school zone sign and adjust my speed appropriately. Better to exit the school zone slow than to enter hot. Are there really school zones that butt up against 55mph zones?

Regarding the second scenario absolutely certain that I could puzzle this out quickly and not slam on the brakes. Earlier in this thread there was discussion of the Adaptive Cruise Control interacting with the Traffic Sign Recognition and adjusting speed. It would not be acceptable for the TSR to misinterpret a Minimum Speed sign and direct the ACC to slow down. I tested this and they operate independently.

In the end it is an unobtrusive notice that I have exceeded the threshold speed I have set relative to what the TSR sees. Still new, but happy with the performance so far. If this changes based on additional experience I will update this post with my feedback

I have sign recognition enabled, and I use it. I don't, however, rely solely on it. It's useful when used with common sense. If I'm on a road, didn't see a sign and don't know if the speed limit is 45 or 55; it might tell me. If I'm on the highway and it's saying to go 20, I'm probably not going to believe it (though I may look around for a school) :)

I had alerts enabled for it for about 10 minutes of city driving before it annoyed the hell out of me.
