That is one nice old camper...a time capsule. If it is as good a shape as the photos show, it is a bargin for anything under 10-15 grand. If it was in my area I would be taking a serious look at it.
Lots of intrest in older rv's in good condition. People are buying them and up-grading the interiors with modern rv fixtures.
It was made back when the companies took pride in what they made. Almost 50 years old...I doube anything made now will be around in half that time.

I think you are right about being made correctly, I can't see any current vehicle lasting 50 years. Only down side would be every time you stop somewhere someone would want to talk about it.

Most definitely.....if I was at a campground and saw that rig I would be all over the owner for a look at it.

Isn't that the truth! As you know I was looking seriously at getting a travel trailer. But after looking at them and searching the whole area I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on the crap they're producing right now. Most were never known for their quality but what they're putting out now with the over inflated prices I just couldn't see spending that kind of money. Now with gas prices soaring I'm glad I didn't and will wait a few years and entertain it again in the future.

I think that would be kind of cool though. I love when someone stops me and ask me about my Ranger so having this piece of history would be just as (if not more) enjoyable. As long as they weren't a stalker. :bandit:

Your right about the quality of what is being turned out now. Luckily I am well versed on what to look for and at when looking at an rv, new or used. So far with all the rigs we have owned over the years, we haven't had any major problems....but I feel for those who are just getting into rv'ing as the majority don't know what to look for.
The fact that the majority of rv's only have a one year warranty on the body, and one or two years on the appliances leads to the simple fact that to be an rv owner you must be a do-it-your-selfer.
Would you believe that if you buy most any new rv from a dealer and something requires a warranty fix, you almost have to take it to the selling dealer.
Example is Camping World...the worst of the worst rv sellers. Buy an rv from the local one, something happens on the road and you take it to another CW and you will be lucky if they honor the warranty. And if work is needed on anything you will likely have to wait weeks or even months to get anything done.
It is litterly quicker to take it to the home plant, usually in Indiana somewhere, to get warranty work done.

I was reading some horror stories like that on the RV forums. I mean you're buying a travel trailer what do they thing you're going to do camp out in your back yard? lol

You're lucky you've been doing this for many years and know what to look for and how to fix most things. While I'm pretty handy and these are basically like a house there's still so much to look for that I didn't feel comfortable getting into it right now.

I guess you could do a new Ford Lightning EV engine swap! I'm just amazed at how good the pics look of this dinosaur, not sure how it handles but it is a F350.

Well you're not going to tune it and win any races with it. lol I bet for it's intended use it goes and handles pretty good. Probably built a heck of a lot better than most stuff today and it looks like it been kept up well. I'd love to see this in person.

Sir..... That thing is measuring gallons to the mile.....
Probably no worse than any class c being built now. 460 low compression, even with a 4 barrel carb, 3 speed auto trans...made to run on the than leaded regular gas...probably gets 10-12 mpg while cruising. Rock solid engine/trans/chassis....could probably pull tree stumps if needed.
The 2012 class c we just sold had the V-10, and was on an E-450 chassis. Solo we were lucky to get 10-12 mpg. Towing our Subi Crosstrek, the average was 8-10.

I'm guessing its one of those setups that the engine/trans/chassis can do a couple hundred thousand miles.

The only thing that could make it better is if it was a 75 and never had to be smogged again.
