So I have a 2020 Lariat FX4 bought new and I love it. Had a Tacoma before and 2 years in I am loving my Ranger. At work a guy was asking if I wished I had waited because the new Ranger is almost here. I know the interior is kind of spartan and I am sure the new one will be great, but I kind of feel like in a few years these '19-'22s will be kind of rarish? A three year run on what will be gone and not seen again. Like my Tacoma....it was a '12, but really they are essentially the same from '05 other than cosmetic and an engine change and they are everywhere. ` I don't know I am actually pretty stoked to have one of the short run models. Does anyone else think this way or just want to get the new one?

I feel similar. I just wish i had unloaded it and got a 22 with the way used prices are.

I'm really glad I have my 2019. WIth all the stuff Ford deleted and now with the parts shortages on the new ones I really don't see the need to rush into a '22 or the next gen Ranger. I'll give it at least a year or two before I consider buying one but until then I'm happy with what I have now.

We buy our vehicles as keepers for several years.
Bought my Ranger for a certain purpose and have no regrets, nor did I want to "wait n see" what the new ones are going to be. Perfectly happy with it.
Last veh I had, kept it for almost 10 years, and one before that, 8 years. Wife is on 5 years with her Subi, and the previous Subi she drove for 9 years.

I paid mine off and I don't plan to get rid of it. I like that it fits in my garage comfortably with the wives car.

Totally happy with my 2021 XLT 4x4 SCREW... no plans to look at a different vehicle. I get something I love and keep the vehicle a very long time. Have had my 2003 Mountaineer Premier AWD 8 cyl. 19 years, and only looked for something new last year because husband thought I should get a new vehicle. Still driving my Mountaineer too... I call it my "farm car" now, because its trips pretty much consist driving back and forth to my horses and to Tractor Supply!

I agree, only because I don't like the front of the new Ranger which looks like a million other trucks. I think these will become a classic! Also, with everything that's going on, soon none of us will be able to afford to gas, so we can gaze at our rusting hulks in our garages and remember the good times when we'd floor it in S mode without nary a second thought.

I agree too as this is a very cool classic looking truck in a limited run. You see it and know it's a Ford Ranger not some cookie cutter same as all the rest of the trucks. I too keep my vehicles for long periods of time. 23 years for my 1999 Taco that I still have. This one I will probably have just as long.

I'm in the same camp...5G will become the new Ranger classic and it's rarity will be appreciated in years to come...I feel the same way about my first gen New Mini...everything about it's design is timeless compared to following bloated, cheapened albeit faster variants that came after...

I know mine is paid for and I have places offering insane money. I paid 39,300. I have people offering me more than that.

I'm kind of a "Buy it and drive until the Kidney Foundation is the only one interested in it" kind of guy. I laugh when the salesman wants t talk about "resale value."

But right now anyway, the much vaunted resale value of a Tacoma is lower than a Ranger.

Out of curiosity I ran up my 2019 Ranger and a similarly equipped (as close as possible anyway) 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road on the KBB site.

Ranger is worth ~$5k more.
