seat foam failure, drivers side

only problem is cant get an offical appt until mid jan, then its a matter if parts…so theres that. but it is what it is.

truck is at the dealer, not sure how long they are going to have, guess it depends on parts

looks like the new foam pad is failing now too. stuck my hand under there and it feels like its also tearing. same spot.

ford wont fix it again aparently. ideas? i want to get ahead of it this time

I don’t have cloth seats, I have the lariat tremor seats so it may not be applicable. When I installed my seat covers (covercraft Carhartt precision fit) I was crawling around and looking under the seats a lot and did not notice anything wrong with them. And that’s with 17k miles

im going to be on pad 3 soon at 10,800.
something is up with the seat or frame thats causing it to fail. dealer refused to fix it again. koons ford in annapolis. yes, i name dropped.

You mean the dealer? Did you open up a formal complaint with Ford Customer Care? If not, please do so and if necessary, go to another dealer if the fix is also failing... Not sure why it would happen again if the fix was robust and done correctly....I do not recall anyone else reporting on repeated seat cushion degradation...

trying that. she said something clearly
is up with the seat.

yup! just did all of that! its really weird that the cusion failed with less that 950 miles. to me- i looks like the seat frame on that side has a burr on it, and when i sit- it acts like a knife and cuts into it slowly. once it has a little cut…its just opens on up

update- new dealer found the problem. new pad was installed wrong, left all the related hardware off it causing the pad to shift.
Good to hear they found a root cause; will they replace the pad with a new one again, and install proper?
