Level kit...my shop will perform it. Is it pretty straight forward or is there any specific step that needs to be followed precisely?

On my now traded gmc canyon, my local shop did all the mods (front level kit then 3" body kit install and spacers). Never had any issues in the 2 years I drove it.

However, shop hasn't done any Ranger yet. I ordered the 1" level kit for my new Tremor and will have the shop put it on when I receive it.

I looked on Youtube for ranger levelling and it looks like some have had havoc ending in axle coming right off, etc! If it's too complicated for a level kit, I may as well skip it and live with the rake look.

I am no expert on this, but I have heard people say to avoid accidentally pulling the axle out of the cv joint just remove the axle nut and pull the axle out of the hub. That’s what I have read around here and other places.

I agree. Remove the axle nut.

I did mine myself in my driveway. Remove the axel nut and it’s zero issues.

I did it and I can't imagine why any one would try it without removing the nut on the axle. It is a super easy job, you don't even need to unbolt the bottom of the coil over from lower control arm for the 1" kit.

Cause technically one could get away with not removing the hub nut and get the struts out, but not doing so can easily turn a 30 min per side job into a 1-2 hour per side job.

Is there a torque spec on the hub nut? On my old Sport Trac it had to be torqued to 180 ft. lb.
Which is why I went through so many front hub & bearings, dealer was hitting the hub nut with an impact wrench to save time instead of torqueing to the proper spec. S'all right, most of them were on extended warranty.

The shop didn't adjust my headlights afterwards. I ended up doing it myself. Would have preferred they did it.

IIRC it's 212 or so. Not to hard to get to with the wheels reinstalled and a large torque wrench.

Sounds right. It will be in the 200-220 range.

And technically you should get a new nut.

Is anyone actually replacing the axle nut or just re-installing? I know the shop manuals tell you to replace, but they seem to tell you to replace every nut/bolt for any work.
