Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for the 2019 or 2020 ranger?

specifically the stereo head unit which shows ignition power to the head unit, not just constant power connection.

I found a drawing for the head unit but it doesn’t show ignition power or remote power to turn the head unit on. It only shows constant power.

Or if there is an available fuse in the passenger fuse box that has power when the ignition is turned on.

Any help is appreciated.

The wiring diagram is part of the service manual DVD. It is also available separately in a paperback booklet. Both are sold online through Helm Inc.

With that said I took a quick look. There are a couple variants (with and without Sync) Both look like they get their power from the body control module. See pic below.

Thanks J,

I saw this drawing but it doesn’t show ignition power. Only shows constant power connection.

I am not seeing and "ignition" that runs to the radio head. The only power to it I see comes from that feed on the body control module. The radio can be controlled from a network buss message (there is a high speed can bus shown in the schematic). I don't think they necessarily have to have a discreet ignition input to control it.

I could be wrong, but I think this (along with the on off button on the radio) is how the radio is turned on and off.

Maybe somebody else can weigh in to confirm or dispel this.

I think you may be right. Gone are the days with a desperate power line from the ignition system to turn the radio on.

I will have to meter out some fuses in the passenger fuse box and hope to find one that energizes with the ignition on. Maybe the round 12v power outlet enables with the ignition key on. I can utilize that fuse to power on my dash camera. My dash camera has a Constant power cable and ignition power cable. I think the constant power line is to maintain the date and time in the camera.

Hey I know this is old but I found that fuse 37 in the fuse box under the steering wheel comes on with the keys in ignition. I used a micro2 fuse tap for my footwell LEDs, there is a 20amp fuse there by default which I relocated to the fuse tap alongside a 5amp fuse for my lights. There's also a convenient ground bolt near the fuse box.

The fuse is listed as spare/unused so I don't really think there's any risk to this method.

Hope that's useful for someone!

Thanks Dave.
This is what I was able to use.

Fuse 20 - spare auxiliary power 7.5A.
Fuse 11 - spare battery power 5A

The only issue I have is sourcing a proper fuse pigtail. I purchased a set from Amazon but the dimensions are a little too big. It’s slight thicker and I had to file it to make it fit.
The dealer doesn’t sell them.
I want to replace the fuse add-on pigtail but I don’t know where to get one that fits properly for the micro fuse.

Any suggested websites is appreciated.

Thanks !

Thanks, I will give it a try.
Yours are two blade. The ones I got are three blade for the mentioned fuse locations i used. That must be why yours fit. Maybe there’s an issue with the aftermarket three blade fuse pigtails.

I will use the fuses you recommended with the fuse locations you mentioned.

Do you recall the fuse numbers and if one is auxiliary? I need one constant power and one auxiliary power for my dash cam.

If you search for the fuse box diagram you can see a bunch that say "not used (spare)".

https://car-fuse.blogspot.com/2020/08/2020-ford-ranger-fuse-panel.html

scroll all the way down, the last diagram is the one in the cab below the steering wheel.

It seemed like most of those were constant power, I kept trying the "spare" ones and it took a while before I found one that wasn't constant power and instead that only comes on with the keys in the ignition. The one that comes on with ignition is 37, it's the 20 amp one almost at the bottom on the left side. Is that what you mean by auxiliary?
