most of the off road clubs in my area are jeep clubs and only go to off road pay to play parks. nothing wrong with that except i dont have a jeep anymore and want to explore not just ride the same park routes.

Isn't there an "areas" group of subforums? Northwest/southeast/Bible country etc..? Prob'ly be most helpful if people just posted their club/groups in their areas subforum I'd imagine.

Like I said, my son seams interested in off-roading with me in the truck. But I'm not wanting hard trails with risk of damage if I don't follow the perfect line. I don't have an FX4, but figure 4x4 with rear locker is 90% or better of what the FX4 package offered as long as I'm not bashing the bottom on stuff.

Also, my goals are not to mod the truck to improve offroad, as mentioned, I bought it for towing. But, since the truck happened to be 4x4 I don't mind doing that some within the limits of the stock setup.

There are some county roads near me that I want to drive, but I will not do it alone simple for the change of getting stuck while learning the areas back roads.
