I have a 2020 FX4 and I am only getting about 17 to 18 mpg. It has never gone higher than that on average.

I would start with just the rears and see if it fixes the ride for you. The bounce didn't bother me too much, only occasionally, but after much deliberation, I put Eibachs on the rear and I have to say it did improve the ride quite a bit - not too firm, but it fixed the bounce for me. It is a pretty cheap and easy upgrade to do. I'm very glad I did that swap.
Took the trampoline ride out of my Ranger. Best upgrade I have done and was $230. Compressing them was a Pita, but after a couple of hours experimenting, I put a big wire tie around the neck and used a tie down strap to get them to the pre-measured spot, put them in place and took off the tie down.

I put Eibach's all around on my 2021 XLT. Made a HUGE improvement. With the Pro Truck Sport shocks, you can set the front from 0-3" at 0.75" increments. I opted for 1.5" and am very happy with it.

I am on the verge of trading my 2019 XLT Sport 2WD (302A) for a 2021 XLT Sport 4WD (302A). Just waiting, like many of you are, for the truck to arrive. I am told it is now in Texas, but who really knows at this point, right?

Anyway, I have a couple of questions about things that you all are familiar with and I am sure I am not...and I'm hoping you can help me know what to expect once the truck does arrive.

Is there any difference much in the stock suspension between the 2WD and the regular 4WD? (This will not be an FX4 or a Tremor)
I had to replace the suspension in my current truck with the Ford/Fox level kit in order to get the mushiness out of the front end and reduce the side-side wallowing and am hoping not to have to do that again in the new truck.

This will be my daily driver and will rarely go off-pavement (until I retire), and I'm also wondering if there will be a noticeable differnce in fuel mileage? I currently get about 25mpg on my daily commute, and yes I do drive like an old man most of the time--keeping around 70 on the freeway and staying in the right lane where I belong :)

For those of you with the newer trucks, have you noticed anything else that I might be surprised to find...or NOT find in the new truck? I am aware I'll be giving up my middle tie-downs and the rear folding headrests I currently enjoy having (can I just remove the headrests altogether?). Anything else I might want/need to know?

Thanks in advance for your insights!
Chris
TSB 20-2339 is mentioned here. Dealers resist but it seems to work. Haven't tried myself.

I have a 2021 crew Lariat with the FX4 and tow packages among other stuff. I have no complaints about handling nor ride comfort. I have about 3,500 miles on it now. I also added a Snugtop bed cap which may help with stability. I don’t understand the crying need for leveling kits especially as they seem to be the cause of front axle failure on 4WD Lariats from what I read here.

Almost there...maybe.
Salesman says the truck should be on the lot today, and I can probably see it on Friday after work.
I continue to hold out hope, and am thankful to even be this close to trading "up".
Can't really imagine how it is for those of you that actually ordered your truck personally and are having to wait months and months for it to arrive.

And on that note....happy Thanksgiving to you all. We have much to be thankful for, and I am thankful for you...the 5G community. You are an exceptional group, for sure!

TODAY......
Is truck day! It's finally in, and we get to see it after I get off work this afternoon.
Now I'm back to being nervous about it again!

I avg about 21 with semi aggressive driving but never In sport. With gas near 5$ it would be nice to get more but my 21 xlt only has 2k miles so perhaps it will get better. I do plan on the ford performance tune. And the price in premium at this point is more efficient than the cost difference.
I do plan on changing something down below because when I take it onto trails for hiking. I never have needed 4x4 yet but it’s super bouncy
