I notice that since that announcement to change the way orders are being filled, Ford has also changed the FAQ questions page, removing the one that says "orders are filled in the order they are received" from the launch page. I'm still digging around to see if it's removed altogether. I smell a fat class action suit coming Ford's way over this, both from dealerships and customers. It appears this shift isn't unique to Bronco; most of the various Ford forums are talking about the same thing - orders getting filled out of order and not in the priority Ford has always given orders of various types.
John, if you put the zip code for Granger, Iowa in the Fords web site you no longer get Granger Ford as the closest.. You now get a larger dealer in Des Moines. Now, that just being childish of Ford's part.

Thanks Jim. I called Granger but the owner Zach was gone for the day and the salesman knew nothing of the deal as it was just offered this morning. So Monday I'll call back and see what their price is. I priced out a fairly loaded Rubicon 2dr hard top with the 3.6L V6 8 speed auto and msrp was $50,040.00. With invoice pricing and an additional 4% off it should be cheaper than my Bronco order. I honestly know nothing about these 3.6L motors, are they any good, any problems with them?
Dave, like you I knew very little about the 3.6L when I bought my '19 Wrangler JL. But after 20K miles (with zero problems, knock wood) I'll say it is a tough little motor. It won't win any drag races, and it certainly won't put you back in the seat at take off. It just does what it's suppose to do when needed. I will also say that I like the 3.6L with the 8 speed auto much more than I do the 2.3L 10 spd in the Ranger. The Jeep set up works so well together. The 8 spd changes quickly, and there's none of that slipping and sliding from to many torque converter lock ups. It also knows when to down shift when you let off the gas so you're not on the brakes all of the time going down hill. The small thing that it could do better is the adaptive cruise control. It's just to agressive when getting back up to speed, but I've learned how to keep that from happening now. It does all of this, and will still net an average of 25 mpgs on the highway at 70 mph.

Jim, thanks for the info. I saw on B6G that someone built a Jeep with the Xtreme Recon 35-Inch Tire Package so I went back on the B&P. When you add that it adds the 3.6L V6 24V VVT eTorque Engine. I came across this from the JL Wrangler forum. The only thing I don't like is to get this Extreme 35" package you have to get a 4 dr, it's not available on the 2 dr. :(

" The regular ESS system with the others, start at a stop using the engine starter and a smaller auxiliary battery, the 3.6 Pentastar with the 8 speed auto (e torque) uses a auxiliary 48 volt battery and belt driven motor/generator to re-start the engine at a stop ( not the starter) . Both systems do stop the engine at a stop, then re-start after you release the brake. The e torque is designed to be smother than the regular ESS system, add a little more start up torque, and actually smooth out the shifting for the Auto."

I'm still undecided on what I'll do but just exploring other avenues right now. With gas prices spiking and now they're saying there's "An energy crisis griping the world" in other words hold on to your wallet because we're now going to screw you with high pump prices because we can. All I can say is "Let's Go Brandon"! ?

Definitely a bummer if you had your heart set on it, BUT.. for every cancelation there are 2 - 3 others
willing to jump on it. Ford has no interest in who actually buys, they know it will get sold.
As for Jeep, there's a reason they are willing to sell below invoice, when other makes are adding thousands above MSRP.
And the supply chain issue is not exclusive to Ford or any auto maker.
My brother and I went to the local Kabota dealer. The salesman told us he usually sells about 40 smaller tractors and almost 100 zero turn motors per year. Next year he is allocated 15 tractors and 25 zero turns.

Right now I'm just entertaining the idea of a Jeep and will test drive some and look into them more in the coming weeks.

Good point about them selling below msrp when others are selling at or above, but they might be doing what my IA Bronco dealer is doing. They're selling at invoice and offering and additional $2K off where most other Ford dealers are at msrp + ADM's. So by lowering their price to sell more volume in actuality they're still making out in the long run but they have to sell more to do it.

The supply chain issues for anything are getting really scary now. But that's a whole other discussion. lol

Oh don’t forget the mileage tax that’s being tested right now :) prettttty sure it won’t affect normal citizens cause there will be huge outrage over the GPS TRACKING ALL YOUR ROUTES. Being pilot tested on commercial and voluntary users lmao… what happened to privacy…

No point in getting mad about basic economic principles like Supply & Demand. Might as well be mad that it gets cold in the winter time.

You obviously didn't read why I'm upset, it has NOTHING to do with supply and demand or any shortages for that matter. Go back to the first post and read it and then maybe you'll understand.

Can't be a "whole other discussion" .If your IA dealer can't get more volume in actuality he "can't sell more volume ."
The discounts will return when the supply exceeds demand.

So if you went to your favorite local small restaurant, and they told you that all the big restaurants got all the top grade meat first(which does happen at Costco, restaurants are buying all consumer meat so Costco had to raise the price by 2$ per pound), and you will have to wait one year to have your favorite type of meat. Or go down the street for big corporate service and they have the meat. How would that make you feel?

Oh but it does have to do with supply & demand. You are pissed because you don't agree with how a large corporation has chosen to attempt to sell its extremely high demand product to the public through a government mandated dealership system. In a situation like this invariably there will be those happy and those not happy about their decision. If they did it another way..there would still be happy and unhappy potential customers. A corporation does Not care about any individual person or small dealership. It exists for 1 purpose and 1 purpose alone: to make $$ for its shareholders. To expect anything above that is to have unreasonable expectations.

But it's not a supply issue it's a Ford issue. They changed the whole process from customers receiving their Broncos by timestamp to an allocation system. This new system rewards larger corporate dealers and screws every small dealer in the country. Now I'm going to have to wait until 2024 to get mine because of the dealers allocation.

If Ford stuck by their word and produced every Bronco by timestamp then all 125,000 would be delivered in 2022 barring parts constraints. Basically Ford F'ed their customers! Why people are having such a hard time comprehending this is baffling?:headbang:

If I really wanted that meat...I'd get in my new Bronco and drive to the place that had the meat, no matter how big it was. Or I'd eat some chicken..

lol...ok you're right!

No I'm pissed because Ford changed the rules and screwed their customers and rewarded the bigger dealerships. If they came out up front and told everyone this was going to be an allocation system. that wold be one thing but they didn't.

Haha, I see. Chicken is always good... Different vibes. Myself, personally I like personable interactions over big corporate, seems too fake. Almost every time I visit the small guy business or family owned, it's a pleasure to talk and work with them as they care greatly about their customers/business.
