What is an accurate timeline for new orders?

Probably should check it again - mine just got pushed back to 11/30 now. I called Ford - they quote "have no idea when Lariats will resume shipping".

I just called the dealer yesterday. No update. No VIN. All they could give me was the order #. Based on what you said I’m not getting it until 2022 unless I buy off the lot.
only issue is I have a $1000 rebate for ordering a vehicle between certain dates

Ford gives you the choice to keep incentives available at time of order or what's available at time of delivery. The concern I would have if I were you is whether or not the dealer put your order in as a customer order or a dealer order; dealer orders aren't eligible for the $1000 order incentive but customer orders are. Incentives are a big part of the reason I don't just buy something similar off the lot; I would lose $3500 in incentives. Dealers in my area sell for $4000 over MSRP so if I bought off a lot locally, I'd be paying $7500 more for the same truck. I found some in Iowa and Minnesota that are selling for MSRP but I'd still be paying $3500 more than the one I have ordered. I haven't lost my patience enough to take that beating yet.

Yeah I don’t know what order type they put in. At the moment I am only out $1k in incentives if I were to find one on the lot. Z plan hopefully helps too

So I ordered my Ranger 6 weeks ago this week. When I did the dealer told me “6-8 weeks is the usual but we are telling people 12 weeks just in case it takes longer.” Given the status of everything in the world recently I assumed 12 weeks would be more accurate. I called the dealer at 4 weeks seeing if they heard anything regarding a potential build date or anything, they said Ford hasn’t acknowledged the order yet.
So back to my question in the title, what is an accurate timeline for someone who ordered recently? Should I receive info about a build date any time soon?

Ordered mine 5/31/2021 and it was at the dealership ready to be picked up on 9/27/2021 XL with STX and FX4.

well you should try your dealer first and they should have it

WWhen did you place your order? I placed mine on September 3 and all I can get from my dealer is the order number no vin yet!

I did find my order number, not labeled as such, just in the mist of other sets of numbers on my down payment receipt. I thought was strange, but what do I know. I couldn’t wait till dealer got back to me with that number. So I was plugging in all the four digit combos I found.
I felt like a Slot machine winner.
