I just had mine installed at dealer 399 plus tax.

Nice, mine are back ordered so I have to wait but they look really sharp and with the Ranger style being so different from the old Frontier I need them for the wife. Find it pretty cool that I sit up the same height as the normal full size trucks, again very different from the old Frontier!! I also ordered the chrome tailgate lettering, with the blue color and chrome grill, chrome side badges, a little chrome on the rear gives it just the right amount with the rest of the parts being black, mud flaps and running boards.

As long as you have your VIN you can see window sticker and build info

So I think the dealer is playing some kind of game. I ordered my Ranger on January 26, 2019. I asked for the VIN mid February and he supplied me with VIN # 1FTER4FHXKLA32231 and he informed me that I could expect it mid April. I used the Ford Tracking website to check the status of that VIN and never had any information come back with that VIN#. I finally called/emailed him on April 2nd stating that I do not see anything with that vin number. He emails me back and says the VIN was wrong the new VIN is 1FTER1FH0KLA42166. Now I checked with that VIN and see that that it states it was ordered on March 2, 2019 and will be available by May 12. I call him and he says that Ford was not taking orders at that time I ordered it. What kind of BS is that. Thinking about cancelling the build and ordering somewhere else.

Orders have been accepted since Aug '18. Builds didn't start till just before Jan '19. Tell the dealer to show you your original order date of Jan 26 and the paperwork you signed for the order. If they can't produce it then weigh the pro/cons of sticking with the order or moving on.

Those two trucks aren't even the same trim. One is a Lariat 501A and the other is a 302A XLT. The XLT was ordered for dealer stock and the Lariat , VIN ending in 32231, was a special order. Do either of those match what you ordered?

He gave me VIN # 1FTER4FHXKLA32231 at first. When I found no info on that vin and called him about it. He gave me the second vin 1FTER1FH0KLA42166.
I ordered a Lariat Supercrew, 5' bed, in Hot Pepper Red with Chrome package. I don't know what the hell is going on, lol. I was busy at work all month and didn't keep on top of it. Going to the dealer tomorrow to see what the hell is going on. probably end up cancelling and wait for better incentives mid year. It's 2019 that I won't get till June by the looks of it lol.
How did you see the first VIN is special ordered, nothing comes up when I type it in.

Even worse, the second VIN he gave you is for a SuperCab and you ordered a SuperCrew? I ordered my truck on Jan. 22nd with no problems. The order was accepted by Ford that same day. He's messing with you!

First VIN is a Hot Pepper Red Lariat 501a with chrome package and Medium Stone interior. Scheduled to be built April 9th.

Print the window sticker out and raise hell if needed. Maybe they will offer a discount or some free services. Don't let up on them. you're almost there.

Looks like you have the right truck now, scheduled to go down the line next week. They are worth the wait, you will enjoy the driving experience. Give em some hell though for jerking you around when you go into the dealership!!!
