Have had the EvoC installed for a month now. No leaks other than automatic car wash. Really happy with it. White isn’t a perfect match with the Oxford white but it works for me.

Do these caps require assembly? So after a LONG journey trying to get my truck outfitted with an RSI smartcap, I was finally able to work with a local company to get it delivered, however there was still a long wait for the crossbars ?? It took about 6 weeks for it to arrive to Hawaii (not bad) but it would have taken another 6 weeks for the shop to be able to install. Since it was just me and my two kids, I didn't think it would be able to lift it onto the bed of the truck, but I brought it home anyway and put it together, hoping I could scrounge up a couple of neighbors when it was over (living in Tacoma Country, we’re a bit ostracised by driving a Ranger).
putting it together was very simple, completed by mysef in about 1.5 hrs. You will need a small torque wrench in the final stages to ensure tightness between pieces.
I made a plan using a cart, wood and a jack to lift it over the bedrails, but decided to see if my boys were feeling manly that day. Surprisingly, they were able to lift one side and I the other, we walked it into the bed from my porch and I made final adjustments by lifting from the inside. Anyway, here are some pictures. This cap is stong, the windows are huge and with magnets, customizations are endless. It does look a bit odd at certain angles, but looks fantastic in others. It’s been rainy these past few months (26” per month) and so far the cap itself is holding out the rain (though the many holes in the bed needs attention). Also, the 3rd brakelight is still in development and estimated to be another 2 months.
Can you tell me what height the rear opening is? The tallest item you could slide into your bed (measurement from bed floor to top of opened rear door) Thanks!I have the SmartCap and I’d say it’s worth every penny. The build quality is superb and it’s transformed my truck for camping and off-road adventures . The height , the gull wing doors are amazing too. It’s built to last.

Yes, there are 5 panels. Use a small torque wrench to tighten properly. I did it myself in a few hours. Not too bad at all. The only hard part was lifting it to install in the truck (only myself and two little kids were able to do it though- I don’t have friends?).Do these caps require assembly?

The opening looks to be about 37.5”- the bottom of the gasket to the edge of the bed. It’s a pretty decent load height. The max height inside is a couple inches higher. Maybe one day they will design one to remove the roof for loading tall objects without having to remove the shell! ?
