DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 20, 2021 – Packed with the latest off-road technology, the Ford Bronco’s early years are the inspiration for new Bronco color choices for the 2022 model year.
Ford Bronco color and materials designers developed Eruption Green Metallic as a modern interpretation of Mallard Green, which was featured on first-generation Bronco models in the early- to mid-1970s.
“Automotive enthusiasts, and especially Bronco fans, are passionate about colors and will be excited about Eruption Green,” said Barb Whalen, Ford color and materials manager. “Paint has a wonderful way of evolving because of technology. Eruption Green is a contemporary color, but there’s a connection with Bronco heritage. It’s evergreen-inspired, with yellow highlights that really tie it into nature.”
The first-generation Bronco (1966-1977) is the featured vehicle at this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise. Bronco brand took the opportunity to debut the new Eruption Green color to the audience at the world’s largest one-day automotive event, as well as the new-for-2022 Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.
Both Eruption Green and Hot Pepper Red Metallic will be available for every Bronco series in the lineup.
Antimatter Blue, Lightning Blue Metallic and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat will be available exterior color options until the end of the 2021 model year. Orders for 2022 Bronco two- and four-door, including with Eruption Green and Hot Pepper Red, will open later this year.

That's not a Bronco Sport but HPR is a great color, Eruption Green looks great on the Bronco too. I wonder what a Ranger would look like in green

Bronco Sport is the little one based off the Escape. Confusion naming system they came up with.

I would absolutely get that color on my next Ford...or maybe when it comes out I'll have my Ranger painted!

When I visit the bronco6g site it seems like a lot of negatives for the Hot Pepper, but I think it looks great!*

Of course, they like the green, and I like that too. Surprised it wasn’t offered originally.

* biased because that’s what I have and love it. Coming from previous colours of black , grey (“silver”), and kinda light tan this HPR really pops.

If this color were available for '21s at launch it would've taken me at least 4 or 5 more months than it did to cancel my Bronco reservation and buy a Ranger.

Imagine that color on Ranger with Magnetic trim. Sexy.

Wife is dead set on a Mustang for the next new car. Come on Eruption Green and baby Godzilla engine in the '25/'26 Mustang GT!

Also, am I the only one who thinks the name is a little off?

Sounds more like a name for a red pigment. At the very least.

That green is hot.

Calling Dave!

@AzScorpion
I saw that last week and posted about it here. I really like the green but for my intended use of my Bronco I want something a lot less maintenance so I'm sticking with white. Heck just with the normal dust we have in the air here it would be dirty just sitting in the garage. Great color for a mall crawler though. ?

You get your Ranger out. And because of your foam parties and Graphene habit it looks great. I have no doubt your Bronco will be as well kept.

The white was my default though. I waffled a bit but it seemed to be the best of the non metallic colors.

That's the problem, I don't want two vehicles I have to obsess about. lol At least with the white it'll look a lot cleaner than it really is and hide any fine scratches. I keep thinking about the Area51 which is a really sweet color then I look at this pic (which is my build) and really like the look. ?

That is the reason I ended up finding a holdover 2019 Ranger to get the HPR because I liked it and they decided to not run it a second year.
I haven’t seen a good picture of HPR on the new Bronco and I won’t get anything unless I can see on in person
