Or just having some really bad luck? Between the chip and commodity shortages now there was a train derailment with F150's onboard. Luckily no one was injured but there's a lot of damaged trucks. o_O

Train derails, crushing newly built Ford F-150 pickups traveling through Missouri

New Ford vehicles including F-150 pickup trucks were being carried by a train that derailed in northeastern Missouri on Monday, the Free Press has learned.

The incident occurred about 12:15 p.m. on Huntington Road in Ralls County with no reports of injuries or hazardous material releases, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which initially believed 33 train cars left the tracks and has updated the figure to 46 cars.

How sick would you be if you knew your truck was probably on that train?
Especially if it was one that has been sitting for months waiting for chips to arrive. Now they just received a batch and your new truck is was on it way. ?

that happened about an hour north of the house. What a mess
Looks like its happened three times this year.

The crazy thing is, this is the third train derailment we’ve had this year,” Dunn said. “It’s kind of where we’re wondering what’s going on. We haven’t gotten to the bottom of it. Their (railroad) personnel comes in and does their own investigation and figures out the cause and what substantiates the issue. They clean up their derailments on railroad property

He said this is the second Norfolk Southern incident this year in Missouri, the first being on June 24 in Monroe County just west of Ralls County. He also noted that a BSNF derailment occurred in the region on July 8.

Depending on the destination yes. It's cheaper and faster to ship by rail and then transport by carrier to the final destination.

Yeah. If you look at your window sticker it'll show the transport method and it's almost always "RAIL". If it says that, then it went by train most of the way and truck transport was probably final delivery. If it says "CONVOY" it went by truck transport the whole way.
