Can't comment on that, but agree it's hard to get into the bed for old or height challenged folks. I put a bestop step on mine.

There is a thread talking about lowering. But, not sure that is your best option, personally. I might look at a step option... that's my opinion.

I have one of these folding aluminum step platforms with locking legs, harbor freight. Mom had alzheimers and I could help her step on it then turn and sit down and swing her legs in. I take it when one of my sisters rides with me, she's short and has bad knees and ankles.

What if you looped a nylon cargo strap thru the passenger side grab handle and left it there (a short one Amazon sells some ) then she could grab it as she steps up on the platform?

I remember this post but it's marked sold. Looks like a guy had custom made rear lowering springs.

A big money option would be a custom rear suspension with trailing arms an coil springs or air bags.

I did a diy version of the Beltech path quite a while ago, about a 2" drop in front, 4" in back.

Makes access both for passengers and cargo significantly easier.

Every time I climb down out of my wife's FX4, I get reminded how much easier my RWD is to get in and out of.
The off the shelf Beltech kit is simple enough any decent DIY type or shop would have no issues installing.

Hey Group,

New Owner of 2021 Lariat 4x4. Truck is on the way. Have a wife who needs assistance getting into and out of truck. She has Parkinson's. Is there any business who specializes in customizing rear suspension? Looks like the front is lower than the rear on this truck...I see any number of lift kits, but would like to lower the rear approximately 2 inches.

My Ranger has OEM step bards on it and I have a 2 1/2" leveling kit on the front. On numerous occasions I have given my 74 year old mother a ride who has advanced Multiple Sclerosis so things like climbing up into a truck is no easy feat for her. With the step rails and grab handle there she has a much easier time getting into my truck than my dad's Tacoma that's a little lower than the Ranger but does not have the step rails. It's so much easier for her that I don't really have to help her get up and in the truck like I would in other vehicles.

If it's the driver's side she can either use the wheel to hold on to while stepping up,or you can get a left side A-Pillar from Australia where they have right hand drive so you have a grab handle on the driver's side as well. These pop off very easily and only take a few minutes to swap out. As for the OEM step rails, they can easily handle my 250 pounds without any issues.

There is another thread on here about trying to add this. Problem was no mount points on the A pillar for the handle mount points with the airbag configuration

Here is a breakdown of the various trim pieces and they do show left/right side panels and mounting brackets. The trim panel may possibly have the mounting points for the handle??
