Why would you do it twice?
Wasn’t sure if really hitting the speed limiter caused it, when it happened the second time, it was just confirmation for a new car/brand I felt more comfortable with.

Congrats on your truck. My son has a 17' Colorado and it really is a nice truck!

As far as 100MPH comments....come on, 98% of us have driven 100mph or more at some point. Smart or not.....most of us have done it.
No no, a lot of us are holy saints who never done anything wrong. ?
Glad your son likes the Colorado, I enjoyed it very much, my first truck and got me into the “okay I kind of like this, A LOT” vibe.

Jebuzz Brandon - It’s a safety feature but for different reasons than you might think. The Colorado starts losing body panels, grilles, badging, wheels, etc. at 105 mph?

How big is the “Oh Crap” response when that light comes on and the engine cuts out at 100 mph?

reduce engine power to dangerous speeds” - because the safer speed was 100? Just saying’.

?
You know I didn’t even think about the car falling apart at those speeds ;) I guess overall I’m really happy with a ford built truck so far, far exceed my expectations.
Pretty big “oh crap” makes you instantly pull over on the highway but not a harsh abrasive cut off of power, you just can’t gas it and you snail your way back home with hazards on :(

you aren’t wrong about the dangers of high speeds. I won’t debate that ?

this is true, but c'mon, you're being a total douche
perhaps the cops should stop you instead of a CEL
I've driven by cops going 100 multiple times. No issues. When you're going 100, with the flow of traffic, on an 85mph highway it's not a problem.

Oh, they have a few times at 90. Surprisingly, they just give me a verbal warning without actually writing down they gave a warning. I’m quite courteous to LE. Sorry, San Diego city rat life the avg is 80-85, so you can even zoom by a cop at 75-80 on a radar gun and they won’t bat an eye. Maybe I just got only nice cops and lucked out. But that’s my personal experience.
It's the same way here., if you're going under 85 you're going to slow! I've been doing 85 and have been passed like I was standing still which is probably by all the CA transplants out here. ?

The cops out here are just as bad. I've seen them blow through lights, driving 60+ when the 25mph school zone lights are flashing, you name it they do it.

Yeah. I guess it really depends on your cops in your area/state really. I remember going to Zion in Utah and the cops there pulled me over for 7 above. To be fair, they also gave me a verbal warning with no written record. In addition, I forgot I had my gf’s glock in the glove department as I pulled it open for documents. He didn’t bat an eye as I reached towards the area of the gun, probably watching intently to see if I go for the grip/holster. I gave him the documents and said I am sorry I forgot I had a gun in there and I’m also carrying concealed. He said “don’t worry as long as you aren’t making jerky movements you are fine” and laughed. Got to give him props for excelling as a LEO even if he pulled me over for 7 above, it’s the culture there, I get it. Funnily enough, this was in the Chevy Colorado.

Haha there are bad eggs everywhere. I personally think cops should have a college degree in criminal justice but that’s just my opinion.
