I might suggest to check the electrical connector under the left headlight...hard to get to but I found mine was not connected solidly. One handed pinch and I heard the click of a seated connector....now the forward parking sensors came alive again.

Hi Dj,

It certainly would not hurt to check this connector and maybe a few more, particularly on the side of the frame...about half way between front and back wheels... Since the ABS system is used, You might look at electrical connectors to the hydraulic Control Unit next to the brake master cylinder too. Intermittent problems like this are hard to find....Good Luck!

I'll do that but what do you think is it something I really have to worry about? Do you think I should take it in just after one time?

Hi Dj,

If you do not make a change, then yes take it in....if you make a change, ie click a connector, then no as you need to see if that fixed it. My experience with these kinds of things is there is no Onezee occurrences. Something needs to change to ensure it does not recur. My concern is diagnostics. Many dealers resort to just replacing suspect parts without any diagnostics... Your problem needs to be understood. your key off/restart essentially reboots the system but does not id the reason for the system triggering a MIL. (Malfunction Indicator Light). I do not recall on these forums of any other member having the same issue.... There have been other problems that are related to wheel sensors and maybe a dealer diagnostic on this will show a defective wheel sensor that rendered the ABS non functional and your got a Hill Assist warning....do not know the specifics of how the latest systems work as I have been retired for too many years. I do think your problem lies in the ABS brake system, JMO....

Yes and it could be something as simple as one tire over/under pressure. I once had a flat fixed on my Ranger. As I was leaving the shop, all of these warnings came on. I checked the pressure and the "fixed" tire had about 20 psi. I inflated it to the proper level and all the warnings went away.

Basically there are ABS sensors that can detect different rotation speeds of your wheels. If they are too far apart, then all of these features will disable and warnings will appear.

Once my wife's Honda CRV got a flat and I needed to replace the tire. I put on one new tire and started getting a tire light on the dash. It turned out that even though I replaced that one tire with the same brand and size tire, the difference in wear triggered a warning. I replaced all the tires, because my life is much easier if my wife is happy.

HI DJ,

i think there is a good chance they can pull a code out of the brake control module that may be helpful...I recall a different issue that the dealer was able to pull a code and id the left rear wheel sensor if I recall correctly...

Hi Phil, so I called the dealer today and spoke to my salesman and said my plates weren't in I told him about the hill assist fault and his response to me was it's a software issue and it'll reset once you shut the car off and turn it back on which it did I'm still going to have them do a diagnostic because the salesman is not a technician....listen to this sound it's like a rattle....u will hear it...is that the turbo? Or does something need to be addressed? It's been going on since day 1.....after i gas it you will hear it....Ur advice is appreciated thanks

Hi Dj,

Being hearing impaired thanks to being a Race Car driver and also a Indycar track side official, I heard nothing...even with my new hearing aids. There are a few noises that are norman. One is the high pressure injection pump for the motor. Second if the injectors themselves and third is the boost control rod which rattles. All are normal. I doubt you have a problem other than the noise and some folks have resolved engine noises via installation of the Engine cover which was standard on Lariat in 2019... Sorry...hearing impalement prevents me from hearing your sound file...

If you are uncomfortable with the noise...take it do the dealer and document their assessment. Then file a formal complaint with Ford Customer Service to protect yourself from increased issues if the noise becomes an indicator of more serious problems.
