I think every Ranger I have seen in person has misaligned fenders, and good luck getting the dealer to adjust them if you don't catch it before purchase, they are within factory spec and the dealers don't want to touch them.

My 2016 mustang hood was misaligned but not as bad as the ranger. I will just live with it because the bolts are painted over and I would worry at will effect resale if it makes someone think it was previously wrecked. My dash is also misaligned above the glovebox but I had the dash out in my mustang and it's never quite the same after, so I will leave it as is.
You just had to say that.. now imma go out and look at mine closely and overly critique it and possibly bring out a measuring tape.

The fender thing is easy... Loosen the 3x10mm screws, pull in the center, and tighten em down while pulling outward. It does make a difference imo.

Hi Josh,

I did mine first day I brought the Ranger home. Relatively simple. For many years Ford Body Engineering was on a program called No Adjust builds. The design of the front hood/fenders is pretty much an attempt to do a No Adjust. I think they need to tweak the before paint fender install, and maybe the assembly plant will. That said, there is a sunrise meeting around a production truck by plant management. It would appear the hood to fender is not flagged as an issue or it would be fixed. Maybe 6g?

Mine aren't really too bad, I don't think anyone has noticed until I pointed it out, I would just rather leave it exactly how it came from the factory.

I know its probably irrational but you see primer or bare metal around the bolts after you adjust it, and that would be a red flag for me if I was buying.

My lariat has the crooked hood
I just noticed my hood is a little crooked, not much, and I wouldn’t have noticed had I not read this thread. I have the tailgate gap difference, again I wouldn’t have noticed had I not read this thread. I am just perplexed at all the small low hanging fruit that is missed. I guess I should be thankful my engine is straight and the wheels are aligned??

I've seen other rangers with the same gap on the left, mine included. I also have the driver door misalignment, tailgate misalignment, fender misalignment, and grill misalignment. I discovered that Ford had a shortage on hydraulic fluid so they were using manpower, it explained a lot.

In all seriousness, mine does have all of the aforementioned fitment issues. I'll eventually fix the front bumper but the other ones I don't care as much about. Don't worry about it afecting other areas of the truck. The interior on mine and the tidiness of the engine bay are flawless.
Man I just noticed my tailgate is not aligned I thought I fucked up the tailgate by hauling trash.

Its's a truck. I guess I'm from the school of the 50s and 60s. You bought a truck for work. Nowadays a truck is a car with a bed. It's gotta come with a tailgate damper or some metrosexual will sprain a wrist. Let's go back to the days when a tailgate had 2 chains with J hooks. I swear those long hair pinko commies screwed everything up.

Have a good weekend:rockon:

My tailgate was not centred. If that’s what you guy’s mean by misaligned. Just open it and slide it over until it’s centred.

My gap isn’t even from top to bottom, even without the TGD... It’s like 2mm so I’m cool with it

When the tailgate had two chains it was a reinforced single layer of sheet metal.
When open, it didn't stop at horizontal without reattaching the chains either.
Of course you didn't need to be eight feet tall to set something in the box without opening the tailgate. :whew:

Sorry I wasn’t born in the 40s... or even my parents for that matter.... I will try harder next time. Don’t worry I told my son he can’t buy Tesla...

I'm OCD and even with that, can probably live with this, but it makes me wonder what else is there that I can't see. I don't want them to "fix" this by moving crap around, probably will just let it go.
I get it Jeff, I was the same way. But, as I gotten more mature (re: older) I try to let those little things go. It's difficult to do that for sure. Like you said, you've got a 8/100K warranty, so you're good to go.

Note: We ordered a '13 Mustang for the wife in 2013. It was a great car overall when I finally got all of the little crap fixed, i.e. drivers window sideways, door locks quit working, right door panel loose, etc. It was quite aggravating, but all small things. Mechanically I never had a problem.
