Does anyone know what the OEM backup camera's specs are? Online searches didn't yield any specs

So far I've added 6 additional cameras to my 2021 (connected to Sync3), and none of them have as nice a picture quality as the stock backup camera. They use the same screen, so I know it's not a screen issue :)

I'm not sure if it's nicer because perhaps it's digital and not composite (RCA), or something else, but I'm looking for aftermarket cameras that are as "good" as the stock one.

FYI the best i've found so far (the combination of low light performance, resolution, and field of view) is this camera. I tried ~5 others, and they were all worse...but I'm sure there are better ones out there.

Are there unused RCA jacks on the back of our radio?

1080P is what you should be looking for. I had one on my pioneer head in my last Ranger. It was specifically made as a backup cam with the distance bars included in the vid stream. I got an extra bran new that I wouldn’t mind adding as a front cam in the grill. Curious as to how you’re doing it and I can tell you how good picture is once I get it to work!

Thanks; do you mean that the stock backup camera is 1080p?
If so, where is that info from? As mentioned, i was unable to find any info on it...

Also, I haven't found any true 1080p backup cameras (only kits with monitors, etc), eg ones that say 1080p are speced as 1080x720, which is *720p* and NOT 1080p :p

I have no idea what the stock cam is but judging from resolution it’s a 720P. Not sure if stock headset screen will even show difference in resolutions. That’s why I wouldn’t mind finding out.

Its more like 720p for the backup cam.

My brother has a RAM, and hit backup cam is razor sharp (1080p).

I see.
I have a bunch of 720p cameras I've been using, and they are definitely worse than stock. So, the screen is not the limitation.
