2019 Ford Ranger w tow package and dealer-installed brake controller (though issue was present before brake controller was installed). Plug into 7-pin connector: running lights work, both turn signals work. However, once I hit the brakes (to shift out of park), I get a left lamp fault message on the console and the left light no longer works. Unplug the 7-pin and plug back in, everything works again-- until I hit the brakes, then, it's back to no left turn signal or brake light. Ford service department says the truck works on their 7-pin tester.

My 2008 Nissan with brake controller lights the camper lights perfectly with no issues, even after hitting the brakes. Camper service department says it's not the camper. Installed new rear lights just in case, but the problem still occurs.

Travel trailer is 2011 Cruiser Fun Finder 189XBS.

Any ideas?

I literally just pulled our new travel trailer off the lot and mine is doing the same same thing! Curious on the replies! When I turn the hazards on they work but when I turn the right turn signal on the signals on the trailer flash like hazards and the left signal it blinks in the truck fast as if there was a bulb out. The camper place plunged a 7 pin tester into the truck and the truck is the issue...any ideas anyone?!

Update... the wife’s SUV has the 7pin connector as well, I backed her SUV up to it and plugged her in. All the trailer maker lights works, tail lights are on hazards work but when I turn the right turn signal on both trailer lights flash as if the hazards were on, however on her vehicle only the right signal is blinking. Just like my truck, when I turn the left signal on the tail lights are on as normal, nothing blinks but her vehicle...I think it must be the trailer however my truck says left trailer signal fault when it connected to the truck
