My S/O has had a few "Stangs previously and I was a CorVette person but after taking this stick shift High Performance Mustang for a drive even after driving the V8 GT - It was no match for the Track ready everyday driver of the Eco Boost with extra Eco ponies on tap with a handling package... Unreal competent road holding. Like a 4 wheel MC - Very impressed but scared of tire replacement costs on this summer only track tires that is comes equipped with and NO SPARE>> Ugh. Fabulous price and trade in value made it a no brainer and manual is way more fun then the A10 trans. Less and less peeps want or know how to drive a stick for obvious reasons but this 6 speed was a kick. Do miss the remote start feature but hard not to smile while driving.

I’m curious about your comparison to the 5.0 vs the HPP ecoboost. Why didn’t you get the GT? Not much of a weight difference but 130 more hp. I’m in the market right now so that’s why I am asking.

My wife’s Car ...
13.2 Quarter mile @ 101 mph ..
Faster than my Tuned Ranger ...

“And that four-banger is arguably even more charming in the Mustang than it is the all-wheel-drive Focus. Of course, it isn't an identical carryover. It benefits from a new head gasket, a larger twin-scroll turbo with 22 pounds of boost (which took just two weeks to design), and a larger radiator. The final output from the HPP’s four-cylinder is a respectable 332 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, which makes it the most powerful four-cylinder sports car ever offered by an American manufacturer.”

I won't speak for @SemperVee , but I can give you my reasons. You are correct that the gt isn't much heavier, <200 lbs or so, but it's all on the nose. I can definitely feel a difference in cornering balance. The eco is more balanced and smooth through the corners. The power comes in different too. The gt's like to be revved to get the power out, the torquey 2.3 comes in much lower. Better street characteristics there. Insurance rates and gas mileage are a bonus too. The gt was never much on my radar after having driven one. I will admit the gt sounds better, but an eco exhaust grows on ya too. If I was going to race a lot, I would have gone gt. After doing my intercooler and starting the tuning process, the power number gap is going to shrink a bit too. I wouldn't go for a gt now after having my eco. Maybe a gt350 if I could afford it, but that's just not in the cards right now.

My previous car was a 2018 Mustang GT 5.0. I have had 3 Coyote Mustangs (2012,2016 &2018). When you test drive the 5.0, please rev the motor past 3000 rpm's. This is where the engine really comes alive and then take it all the way to 7500 rpm's. This motor loves to rev !!

The new high performance ecoboost Mustang is no slouch. Great handling and instant off line turbo torque.

Bingo. My nephew had one with a full corsa exhaust. It sounded wonderful, but you could be heard on the other side of town. I can get in enough trouble on my own, I don't need that attention haha ? ?

Thanks. I’ve read all about the HPP. I wonder how much hp you can get with bolt ons and a tune through Cobb. I get all the options I want if I got that vs a GT.
