So basically this looks like an Explorer Sport Trac, but instead of using an Explorer it’s an Escape?

I thought Rogue was a Nissan. Which, by the way, is another resurrected name that was stolen from AMC. Someone comes out with an Ambassador SUV, I'm gonna scream.@2.7EcoBoost
. . . . It's the tiny rogue . . . .

The Ranger today is as big as an F150 from the past.
to retain a customer base, even if it means missing a few bucks on the sale of another F150
Looks like Ford might be going after Ridgeline folks .... it does kind of look like one.

Ford Motor Company announced today that in partnership with American Honda Motor Company, the duo would jointly produce a new utility vehicle tentatively named, "Couridge", as the vehicle can draw its linage from both Courier and Ridgeline models...
If you watch the video I posted that's what they're basically saying it is. It looks like they attached a Bronco Sport on a unibody truck frame and it has the same motor as the Bronco Sport.well...a chopped Bronco Sport is the same idea as a chopped honda pilot.
I'm hoping once the camo wrap comes off the Maverick has its own signature look, even while sharing styling cues from other models.
They are BOTH truck adaptations of unibody SUVs.I don't see any Ridgeline resemblance in this. Yes they're both unibody, but the Honda looks like they took a Pilot frontend and chopped the back to accommodate a cargo bed. Not proportioned right and doesn't have the "truck" look. If the Maverick looks like a Ridgeline because they are unibody it would be just as fair to say a Ranger looks like a Tacoma looks like a Colorado etc. Plus this will be much smaller and cheaper than the Honda.

Yes, everyone is well aware this is based of the "Bronco" Sport platform. However, this doesn't look like a bronco sport in any way, at least to me it doesn't, not from what we can see in the camo. The Ridgeline has always looked like a Pilot, which has always looked soft and car like. Which in my opinion is why it has always failed to gain market share. The Bronco Sport looks more truckish in the front than a Pilot, squared off, boxier etc. so even if this did look exactly the same, it would serve better for a "pickup" design. My response was to the statements claiming it looked like a Ridgeline. No way.They are BOTH truck adaptations of unibody SUVs.
Pilot=Ridgeline
Maverick=Bronco Sport
I don't know if you're confusing the Bronco Sport with the Bronco, but that Maverick looks exactly like a camo'd Bronco Sport with a truck bed.Yes, everyone is well aware this is based of the "Bronco" Sport platform. All of these "leaks" are straight from Ford. It's a page from Levine's marketing book. See chapters Bronco, Bronco Sport, and new F-150.As soon as everyone calms down and runs out of aspersions to cast, y'all might want to take a closer look at the information. All the pictures are photo-shopped. What it actually looks like is still being held close by Ford. Same with the specs. There's a whole lot of "based on", "from what we can see", "might have", "could have", etc. I've read all the articles and watched all the videos. The bottom line is that no one knows. Y'all can get your knickers in a knot if you want. I'm sitting this one out and waiting for Ford to release details.![]()

The mere fact that it's a unibody, AWD, truck adaptation of an SUV makes it also look like a Ridgeline. It may not be styled exactly the same, but it looks like one.
