Dear god, man! I had mine at 20 today for first time to listen to a song and the loudness was unbearable! 15 is the highest I ever go.

Good luck on the upgrade though.
Yes, I feel guilty turning mine up to 10. Afraid I’m going to damage my hearing.

Pretty sure I've not gone past 15 on my XLT. I'm pretty happy with my stock set up.

Can't for the life of me imagine what 30 might sound like!

My normal level is 8-10.

I'll go up to 12 if I have to really jam to some classic Petra.

I think 30 would scramble my already fragile brain.

I've also replaced my front door speakers with Rockford Fosgate components and that improved the sound quite a bit, especially the highs.

One other thought, you can also open the driver/passenger window to relieve the over pressure, couple inches. More if you need to share?

I have never understood the desire to have concert hall sound in a car or truck, especially a truck - not sure why, but maybe trucks are different . Even back in the day when my friends were clamouring over each other to get the latest Craig Power Play system (if it didn’t fit, they’d rip apart their dash to make it fit), I had the crappiest Canadian Tire special in my Roadrunner and I loved it. Later on, when I could afford any system I might want, I just didn’t see the point. Sure, no one wants that single speaker on the dash all cars had in the 60s and 70s, but Boston’s “More Than a Feeling” sounds great cranked all the way to eleven on any system, any day, any time...especially with the windows down.
Good times man...good times. \m/

I'm not into it like that, but I know audiophiles can spend a pretty insane amount of money on equipment.

Now if you are one of those car audiophiles that still have your music cranked at stop lights next to people, or drive through residential neighborhoods vibrating walls you can choke on a bag of dongs. Bout as bad as people on bikes that have some weird fetish for revving the throttle at a stop.

My exact listening habits right there. I think i've only taken it to 15 at the most. I actually do have hearing loss thanks to ear infections and loud equipment growing up - 32% in the right and 41% in the left. I honestly couldn't even imagine what 30 would sound like, even to my hard of hearing self. That would for sure cause major damage over time.

I feel the XLT system is quite adequate for what it is. I am looking to upgrade the speakers and add a kicker hideaway, however. Mainly bc i just can't leave anything alone...lol Some more low end would be great is really all i think it needs.

Only if you add them all together.
Taken separately, as many of us are doing, they're only minor enhancements to what we wanted/needed to begin with. Just that "one little thing"...
Like a damper, maybe ;)
(you're welcome @AzScorpion) :)
