Probably an old FN model 98 variant, a commercial version of the 98. Very nice with the set triggers & -06 cartridge. Looks really nice & should shoot well enough.

I'm excited! We executed a firearms trade-in for monetary credit towards new guns for our agency. One of our old, wood stock Remington 870s has been earmarked for me to "buy back". I'm supposed to go today to pay for it. I'm going to refinish the ol' girl, including bringing back the wood stocks to a better condition, put ghost ring sights on her, and a mag extension tube. I want to keep her classic lines but bring her up to a slightly more useable fighting condition. PIcs to follow!

Well, here she is! Mag extension tube has been ordered. I need to research ghost ring sights because they seem expensive. I bought this for half what the dealer is selling the other shotguns we traded in are going for (basically what they paid my agency for it). I'm hoping the stocks clean up nicely.
