I'm about to install some rear marker lighting (and in near future some on the side) of my rack. Is the license plate lights the best tap in location? Or would it be worth while to run a fresh line from the front to a back central distribution terminal block on a ignition fused switch?

Might want to search for the installation instructions for the Roush fender flares. They have a side marker on the rear you have to wire in. Should show a good place to tap into. But I'm guessing license plate lights it where they do it.

Looks like they tap into the actual rear light harness.

Might be possible to simply use the trailer connector under the bumper, but that might cause issues with the rear proximity sensors

Seems like access would be easier on the license plate lights. Perhaps there is a reason tail lights might be better?
