I was looking at a 4 door STX FX4. I wasn't paying $43,000+ (before tax) on a truck with rubber floors! LOL I ended up in a 12,000 mile 4 door XLT FX4 for $29,000 out the door.
I get it John, that's one of the things I was talking about with dealer trucks. They would have an STX with the 430 buck e-locker, and wouldn't order the $145 carpet. I understand rubber floors in a work truck, but most of the folks that need a work truck wouldn't want the STX package. I guess those that order lot vehicles know what they are doing, but much of it makes no sense.

HAHAHA Don't get me wrong, I don't mend rubber floors. But a truck with no real options outside of FX4 shouldn't be more expensive than an XLT! LOL

Agreed. That STX FX4 at $43,000 was way over priced. Nothing close to what I paid. :)

o_O Of course they will. And I did. I ordered even the leather dash and the so called sports seats (witch are complete grab i have to admit) Just because thats the car where I spent most of the day in... dont care how it looks after 7 years. Its a truck not a GT. And now I am amazed ‘cause of the option u got to delete the rearseats. There isn‘t much space in the back for all the tools and I had to deal with the „backrest“ because of the noise... does the carpet in the rear the job, too? If so I had to find a dealer witch orders the US rearcarpet for me!

cheers from diesel europe!

@Gerder Gerd, the rear seat delete was the big reason I went with the XL/STX package here in the states. This truck will go on some long road trips, and I wanted the space to store our luggage. I can't say if the carpet reduces the noise as I haven't ridden in a Ranger without it, but I would think it would somewhat help. The carpet option in here is $145 U.S.

Happy Holidays from the Colonies. :)

Here's a thread where one of the members here removed the rear seats of his Ranger. This may help you with some ideas.

ThX! That thread has some good ideas I can work with. Otherwise the oversea relatives have to pack a parcel with the original carpet as a late holiday gift for me  might look better than the homebrew version. As we are in a hard lockdown again tomorrow I ll find some time to ?brood? about it.

have a good time and stay well!

Terry, I want to be just like "The Dave" when I grow up. :)

I do have a few do-dads to install when I get home. Side steps for my vertically challenged wife, a Draw-Tite hitch, and the all important tailgate damper to pull it all together. :handsinair:
Nice SuperCab!
Basically have the same truck just XLT. installed curt hitch and OEM wiring harness to get 7/4 pin connection.

Think all rangers have a four pin wire harness for towing. but if you want the 7 pin there is OEM option. lots of information in the towing forum.
parts from ford tow package
7/4 pin plug, ford part # FU5Z-14489-A

If rubber floors were an option for my lariat if have taken them in a heartbeat. Instead I've got carpet I'll never see because I have rubber mats on top of it, and still have dirty carpet around the edges. Sadly, there isn't a package that includes all the useful features and excludes the ones that actually reduce functionality.

Mike I agree. Please don't misread this. I got my XL STX with carpet more for I hope some sound deadening. Yes I have rubber mats & yes the carpet gets dirty on the edges. I got my truck to use as many of us, & others for there own personal reasons. Yet I read the reviews that say how cheap the interior of the trucks look & feel but yet some of use feel that (cheap) looks & functionality can work together.

OMG, like all the f'ing whining about "hard plastics". You know what I like? Nice plastic that can be wiped clean. You know what I hate? Some fabric covered plush foam that's impossible to clean and will look like shit in a few years. When did people decide they needed to drive around inside a pillow?
