True story, driving my Ranger to Detroit along I-94 just east of Kzoo, on the road for less than an hour. Traffic was extremely heavy, brainless and wandering and my verbal venting behind rolled up windows was potty mouthed and loud. I'm too old to act on it but soon after, my Ranger suggested we "stop and take a break" on the digital display.

I've never had it happen again no matter the length of the trip.

Our Rangers are like a faithful and loyal friend watching out for us. Mine talks to me too.
I think he was actually watching you as opposed to listening. A camera watches the driver to detect tired or inattentive driving.

Just like that potato you think looks like Charles De Gaulle's nose...both saying, " you want the damper , you need the damper. " o_O?

Ah haaaa, the transformation is complete brother. The damper has pulled you into the dark side. Dave @AzScorpion will be so proud. :)

Phil, I tried to lookup " damterite" and google knows nothing about it. It sounds really bad which is fitting for Dave (@AzScorpion ), but I am still left wondering...

The is a true statement. Check out your manual. I believe it is under driver assist.

Your fu has been neutralized. Check for terite and see that it is Latin for rub out or one who wears away for instance and detero is to make worse, lessen or impair. So, basically Phil is saying he doesn't want the Dave to use the dark side to make him a less person cause he's great the way he is.

But, he caved and joined the forces of damperdom to keep the balance.

"I am altering the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further.”
