when my brother bought his Ranger he had the same issue he ended up with a Lariat. I was shopping year end deals so I ended up going XLT.
Totally get it, same reason I ended up getting a 2019 over a 2020.

7 pin harness, clear side markers and Rough Country light bar done yesterday and today.
Receiver, exhaust tip, LED plate and cargo bulbs and Hella yellow fog bulbs done recently.
Not bad for a 400 mile old truck

Finally got around to installing my retraxone xr tonneau, yakima cross bars (taken from one of my other vehicles), ford lumen bed lights, and raptor grill. Bed lighting took a little longer to install then expected but all-in-all still an easy experience. Only gripe I have about the tonneau is there is a little opening in the corner near the tailgate that is not sealed. At the right angle, water can definitely get in to the bed. It's not a lot but just an FYI.

Everything looks great. I am patiently waiting for my Retrax pro cover that I ordered over 2 months ago from Tonneau Cover Warehouse. They said it would ship in 1-2 weeks. Definitely not impressed with them at this point.
How was the installation?

The exhaust helps enormously. Add the CAI to that and you’ll not regret it. Load a tune and you’ll be grinning ear to ear and not worry about your fuel economy,
Thank you for the feedback. Probably going to add both the intake and tune eventually.
I’m VERY happy with the AWE exhaust.

Build a panel to go across the back seat to support the pet carrier we use when traveling with our three ferrets.

Had some left over paneling from a bathroom remodel and miscellaneous scrap lumber. It now is supported better and sits leveler (is that a real word, doesn't sound right, OH well). Also included a shot of our spare cover on the trailer.

Installed Dawn Enterprises body side moldings from Amazon to help prevent door dings.
  • Packed and padded very well in a reinforced rigid tube to prevent damage or bending.
  • Perfect paint match (White Platinum).
  • Easy install with attached 3M tape.
  • Rigid molding pieces make it easy to get a straight line.

Nice truck! What do you think of the FP tune? Is it noticeable? Did you have it done at a Ford dealership with the larger tires? I have read that the warranty could be void if installed with tires over 31”.
Hey there! I just did it myself, have a buddy who works at a Ford (Parts department) and his parts manager said I can do it myself without any warranty issues, he told me keep the email to prove it and their dealership would take care of it.

As for the tune, I really enjoy it. Shifts feel smoother, very noticeable power increase, and my fuel economy went slight up. I started using 91 a while back anyways.
Now I’m trying to hold off on getting the AWE exhaust. I’ve heard good things but it’s hard for me to justify spending $800 For it

Well, when you break something, does it count here?

Broke the sunglasses holder on the third try.

For some unknown reason, I have a bad habit of leaving the door down, and then upon re-entering, I bang it w/the top of my noggin when getting in - whilst letting out a scream or two.

After the third time, the door finally gave up and fell on the floor.

On a positive note - If you have ever wondered if there was a mini tail gate damper on the sunglasses holder, I am sorry to report it is simply a spring.

At first glance it probably just looks like a picture of my truck with way too much “warmth” filter on (it’s actually very “orange” out today from the smoke of the surrounding wildfires). But if you were to look closer you’ll notice a drastic difference.

Got the Fox 2.0’s put on today and what a difference! Took it over some speed bumps and curbs in the parking lot and the truck is much more stable and does not rock back and forth going over bumps anymore. I’m not planning on going to Baja and sending it by any means, but the truck rides a lot nicer and I can’t wait to feel the difference next week on Cleghorn.

Pretty simple. Might need a second hand to get the cannisters and rails on bed.

The AWE exhaust is well worth it.
