It is annoying, I usually have something playing so I didnt even notice it at first! Mine isn't loud but you can definitely hear it. Have you had any other issues with yours?

I had a whistle coming from the driver window also. The source of the whistle was a little hole beneath the side mirror. I covered it with a piece of black tape and the whistling stopped.

I also have lots of wind noise from both rear doors. I have not yet had somebody else drive so i can sit back there and investigate.

Thanks! I'll try that. I was going to use a piece of hose like a stethoscope to try to pin down where the noise is coming from, but it is definitely coming from somewhere around the window.

I had a whistle coming from the driver window also. The source of the whistle was a little hole beneath the side mirror. I covered it with a piece of black tape and the whistling stopped.

Can you post a picture? I have the same thing or something similar.

I've been, trying to locate my whistle, I did hear it change if I roll the window down, put my hand near the underneath part of the mirror. I didn't see any holes though, thought it might be the puddle light. Haven't had a chance to keep trouble shooting, I just turn on the radio.

I have noise that sounds like the rear passenger window (supercab) is open. It's most noticeable around 40 mph. I've replaced the weather stripping and had the rear door alignment fixed. I masking taped every window and still can't figure out where the noise is coming from.

Hi Swinkey,

I have mentioned this before but will bring it back again. This will not always work, but for me at Ford, I was able to resolve many noise issues using a simple mechanics Stethoscope. Available at many auto stores. Take the plastic diaphragm and metal probe off the ear piece and the plastic tube to which the diaphragm is attached. When you use the end of the plastic hose with the ear pieces, you have a very directional "microphone". Have some else drive your vehicle and start pointing the tube to suspected sources. If you hear muted sound...the area you suspected is not the source..start searching and as the wind noise gets louder, home in and you will located the offending area. Very cheap and quite effective.

Back story. We bought a 40 ft ALFA diesel pusher motor home. Very pricey! First trip there was a loud whistle that seemed to be in the area of the passenger front windshield. Back to the dealer, where they "sealed" the windshield. Next trip to test....no change, so I had my wife wear the Stethoscope and search with the tube....She searched the windshield...nothing. So point it around she homed in on the front door. She said it was coming from that direction. So I directed her to start at the front bottom and move along the door seal. She thought this was totally dumb but started searching. When she got to a point about half way up the leading edge of the door, she shouted OW!!! and ripped the stethoscope off her ears...the whistle was so loud it scared the daylights our of her. So I examined the area and the door seal was creased where she hit the noise level in her ears. I was able to wedge a piece of rubber in the crease area and Viola! Whistle gone! Later, I did a better job with a Ford field fix...I sliced a length of fuel supply tubing and inserted it along the door seal in the area in question, which forced the door seal in this area to better seal the door. 15 years later, the fix is still in place as the imperfect door opening was not repairable...so it is with motor home quality....They all are rolling pieces of junk, IMO!

She is now a believer in how effective this simple device is in tracking down noises, whistles and wind noise.

The latest on my wind noise search:

My truck - 19, supercab, Lariat, 10/19 build date, wind noise from passenger rear door.

So far I've replaced tires, front/rear weather stripping, and the front window run channel with no luck. All of this was out of my pocket because my dealership has been horrible to deal with. I've also had the doors adjusted (gap between the doors was 3x the drivers side) and the door tilted in (door stuck out the top much more than the drivers side). Every window edge has been taped with no change.

I left my truck at a local body shop all week and they noticed the the cab and the truck bed don't line up on the passenger side of my truck. Standing behind the truck you can see on the drivers side, the rear door and the cab are flush. On the passenger side, the bed sits in about 3/4" compared to the door.. They noticed this when I shorter driver adjusted my mirror and couldn't see the truck bed. They taped off the gap between the door and the bed and said there was a noticeable difference in wind noise. They loosened the bed to adjust it and noticed it was pinned in place with no side to side way to adjust. They said they'll either need to drill the bed to adjust, or move the cab. Since they have no other Ranger to compare it to, they asked me to go to the dealer and take pictures to compare. This isn't a cheap repair, so I'm hoping I can convince the dealer to pay for it.

I'm going to my dealer later to compare my truck against the ones on their lot. Fortunately, they have a lot of supercabs to compare my truck to (supercabs are rare around here). I'll post what I find later, and a few pictures if the trucks on the lot don't match my truck.

I received my stethoscope from Amazon, but sent it back for a refund. The thing had too strong of spring on the ear pieces and was too uncomfortable to wear. I will have to find a different brand and reorder.

On my new 2020 SuperCab I noticed that the passenger rear door sticks out like an inch further than the bed . I noticed right away wind noise from that side . Took to dealer and they sent to their bodyshop and they only I would say brought it in 1/4 “ . The rear passenger ajar light would come on when you made a hard left turn . They were able to fix the warning light . I read somewhere else where there’s an exit air vent behind the rear passenger seat . When traveling at freeway speeds I noticed if you push in the cabin air recirculating button it does quiet it down a bit . Love my new Ranger for a lot of reasons but they really need to work on quieting the cab and I can’t believe Ford is putting out new trucks with body panels not aligned !
