I have all three (GMRS/CB/Ham), and will bring them all just for the heck of it.

I started with one affordable Midland CB, and stuck with it since it worked so well, alongside a Wilson "Little Wil" rooftop antenna; links to both below (may be cheaper to source these on Amazon).

In the long run, if you plan on running CB frequently, a 48" Firestik antenna is the way to go.

OK, I just ordered these. I should get them by Thursday so i have enough time to do a quick install. I changed the oil and filter today, Looking forward to this trip.

There is a Hot dog guy always parked at the south entrance "smokey bear road" and Mc Donalds at the north entrance in Gorman...

Depending on where you are in the park Mc Donalds is either 10 mins away or 2 hours!

That was our plan, bring in food and just have a cooler in the bed to make it easy.

For the Hiway trip lets use channel 14 (Primary) with channel 4 as a fall back.

Anyone coming from the south (LA metro area), we're planning on leaving Long Beach around 7am-ish, if anyone wants to meet and convoy up, let me know. I don't have a CB currently, not sure if I'll grab one before this trip, but I"ll have FRS/GMRS and HAM on-hand.
