I see that members seem to have a lot of issues with the Gen5 Ranger. I don't doubt these issues. I want to express my total satisfaction with my new Ranger. My last Ranger was an 05 with the 4 banger & 5 speed manual. What a different animal this Gen5 is.! My wife has a Mercedes GLC 250 small SUV and she says the Ranger is quieter on the hwy. She says it rides better. The Ranger is an XLT so not top tier, but she's amazed at all the goodies that come standard with that trim level. I am very happy as well. I have an Escape and a F350 Super Duty Diesel and the Ranger is the one I like driving most!
Just my two cents worth...……….

I hear you bud, so far my 2020 Lariat S/Cab is definitely well worth the almost 3 years I waited.
FYI, I've embarrassed a few late model Taco owners at stoplight derbies, but with that anemic V6, I am almost certain my '02 CR-V can do the same.

I got rid of my 2019 Tacoma with 1600 miles for my Ranger. In comparison the Ranger doesn't seem to have that many issues honestly. The Tacoma forums are a nightmare lol. I'm extremely satisfied with my truck and I'm not a ford fanboy (haven't owned 1 in 10 years till now).

I know there's always a few lemons with anything you buy and I feel bad for those who have had problems with their especially those who've had to have Ford do a buyback. I couldn't be happier with my Ranger and I look for any excuse to go out and drive it. While I've owned many F150's they were always just a truck to me, I never did any Mods to them but with the Ranger I love adding mods to it. Of course this forum doesn't help and I have to restrain myself most days after looking at what others have done to theirs! :curse:

So far it’s been a great truck and don’t expect that to change. Also one of the nice things is my truck was built in November so o figured they figured out the issues and got them fixed on the line.

as a former Jeep owner the number of overall issue is just one day of issues over on there threads.

I couldn't have said it better myself. While there are a few lemons that appear, They do seem to be very uncommon, and some might even be due to the parts availability issues we've seen and heard about, not any systemic failures.

My Ranger is probably my favorite vehicle I've ever owned and I also look for excuses to drive it. I look forward to having it for quite a few years - the only thing that would change that would be if Ford came out with something I just couldn't say no to with the new Ranger - but it would have to be quite spectacular. At this point, I'm not sure even a 6 foot Crew Cab option would get me to trade this truck in! The only thing might be if they did a hybrid option that pushed the mileage up to 30+ MPG average.
