Thanks Cliff! That's the exact reason I went back to steelies, my wheels usually take a beating on my past jeeps and trucks. If you're going that route, make sure you do not use the oem steel wheels, they just don't have enough offset and your tires will rub on the control arms. Also, Thank you for your service!!!
From what i have read here and other places, 265/75r16 will fit fine on 16" steelies. Is this not true?

Possible. I know my stock 265/65r17 have a bit of clearance for the steering knuckle but when I tried Goodyear 265/75r16 on a oem steel wheel (the silver ones), the sidewall would rub slightly. I know they are both 265 wide, but my 16inch's bubble out of the side (if that makes any sense). Not all tires are the same.

Can confirm 265/75/16 falken wildpeaks are good to go on oem steelies

I switched out the oem shocks for bilstein with a set of all dogs off-road springs which ended up lifting the front about 1-1.5 inches

Not really. I just removed the plastic covers from the front crash bars.
