Awh come on man Sid would be Proud of You

Speaking of he has been awfully quiet lately :(
You're right I haven't seen/heard much from him lately. I know he can't post down here in the "Off Topic" sections since he was un-banned. I guess it's a safeguard so he doesn't get tempted with the off topic posts. Otherwise he'll be....:ninja:

Just start a new topic on a new lighting feature...like laser turret heads for truck bed posts to knock out drones, etc....

@Saiga_V46 Rueben, America is the best country in the world, but I am a little biased. Does it have it's problems, yes, just like every other country. Here is a few thoughts that come to mind.

1. The majority of problems you see in America today are caused by a small minority of people. As my dear old Dad used to say, "They wouldn't be happy working as a taste tester in a pie factory.

2. Also, the majority of the problems you see are in larger cities that are ran by politicians that could not coordinate a 2 car parade. So, choice a mid size to smaller city to live.

3. If you think the fruits of a man's labor is his to do as he wishes, I suggest you wait a few years to see what will happen.

4. If you think that those who work hard should take care of those that are able to work, but will not, come on over. Things seem to be heading that way with our new President.

5. The vast majority of American's just want to mind their own business, support their families, and go about with respect for others. And like me, they will welcome you with open arms.

Disclaimer: These are my opinions, and my opinions alone. I'm old, and I don't see those opinions changing. So I ask members here to please resist the urge to try. It won't work.

I would honestly wait a few more months and see what the US looks like then. That's all I can say without getting banned. :lipssealed:
Maybe as an example, some major department stores (Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kroeger's) are removing certain merchandise they regularly sell (from a well know pillow maker) because he was involved in the recent election supporting a person, but not on the side of the people calling for store boycotting as form of economic punishment to said maker (sure hope they don't come for my pillow too). This is in today's news where they seem to max report everything related to blowback for your personal voting beliefs.:tumbleweed: Shutt'n up now:lipssealed::lipssealed::lipssealed:

Darn it Dave,

You spilled the beans...My Ranger has been taking trips to California with a full load of straws. I get 10 per penny and sell them for $1.00 each...I am (was?) making a fortune until you posted this. Sheesh!

Look - we go our share of issues. It's one hot mess of a dumpster fire occasionally. But it is still the best thing going on Planet Earth.

Greatest country in the world but some want us to head towards soscialism , remains to be seen . Used to be less hatred here and we had freedom of speech . Watch our slow economic decline as the present leader wishes to put foreigners ahead of Americans but we are told he cares LOL . Americans have always fought to help the world and stay free and compared to the world we are a generous people so you would be welcome .

The biggest problems in America are the vocal minorities (think far left or far right, not racial minority) and the cost of necessities. In the US it's easy to go without health insurance, as the government doesn't provide it, and then get stuck with a huge bill when things go south. On the other side of that, our taxes are generally lower. I believe the tax rate in South Africa is about 45%, to compare, I pay about 25% in taxes (22% income and 3%ish property) and I pay for health insurance on my own. I am not paying even close to 20% for health insurance. However, the cost for health insurance is the same regardless of what I make, so when I made 1/2 of what I'm making now the cost was quite a bit more.

You have to remember too that boring normal life doesn't make the news. I remember two instances in my life where people heard I was from NY (the state, not the city) and were shocked that I lived on a farm and wasn't getting shot at by gangs. I also remember being overseas and people being shocked that all Americans weren't walking around heavily armed every day.
