Probably be about $450 but worth every penny. But if you do the windshield in clear IR then $700.
the quote I got was a difference of $40 between ceramic and whatever is right below.

This was only for windshield, though, so I can see how it could add up if you’re doing the whole truck $$$
Receipt for my tinting not long after I got my '21

I'll probably skip the windshield for now (I know it's the biggest heat transfer area) and just do the rest. I already have a mobile appointment for 5/23 but with everything going on I forgot to ask her about ceramic. ?‍♂ They're open today so I just left them a voicemail and will change it as long as it's not crazy priced here. Thanks for the reminder!
I just heard back from the tint shop and she said $500 all around including the visor strip on the windshield. I thought that was very reasonable so ceramic it is for Money Pit 2.

Was talking to a guy that was replacing my windshield two days a go (that's going to be a whole nuther post). Since he's in the windshield business and all I mentioned this topic...

He said front tint is EASY to do legally. You can get a prescription from an optometrist in just about any state that will allow for tint up to a certain level. Go to one of these sports car shows or cars and coffee. Find someone with a tinted windshield and ask who his optometrist is. Then get an appointment to go get your script. Road Glare and other problems will be able to get you tint on the windshield and then you just carry the script with your car.

It does add cost and it does have to be renewed on a regular schedule so there is a recurring cost but if it is worth it to you then bada bing bada boom.

I asked about what happens when the windshield gets KO'd by a rock and you have to pay a couple hundred to get the glass re-tinted. He said NOPE. If it is part of a prescription then your car insurance covers it just like if your glasses get ruined in a car accident.

Or if you are like me and have recurring skin cancer, A dermatologist will work as well.

I know people that do this and I'm surprised that works since you can easily put on sunglasses. The clear or 80 or 90 percent sounds like something I might look into.

You're right about the sunglasses with regular tint. I think it would be more beneficial if you did a ceramic tint on the windshield. You'd get a lot less heat transfer with it and places like here in AZ or TX and FL it's almost a must have.

I'm not talking about the clear or even the 80 or 90 percent, I've seen limo tint on front windows. I'd be paranoid of being in an accident an the other party trying to deflect blame saying I didn't see them because of the tinted windshield. Limo tint on the windshield is kinda dangerous IMO but I'm old an cranky.

I had limo on the rears of my Jeep and it was hard enough to see out of that, especially at night. I would only do a clear or 90% on the windshield myself.

I think that falls into the "just because you can doesn't mean you should" category. Keep in mind people also did this too...

I had them match my front tint with the factory tint on the rears. No issues with night driving. Like Doug said, cops usually don’t bother with them unless you’re in a small town or county. I was only stopped one time with my last truck, and it was by small town cops in Hillsboro Beach FL, (8 cops, 4 of which are Sergeants patrolling a single 3 mile road through town), but they were just fishing. I rolled down all windows to put them at ease. No ticket or warning. They also stop people for 2 miles over the speed limit, so be aware. Cops in TX and CT have never bothered me.

I did the same thing. Matched the rears.

Cant see anything on the dash at night and also have to role the windows down sometimes to see - especially in the country. But, in the summer heat.... WORTH IT!!!
