Is it worth it to just get the FX2 package over just the rear locker? Are the extras worth it for around an extra $200? FX2 comes with rear locker.
Either " black appearance with added locker" or "FX2". cannot have both. black is a better deal then the FX2

I just got my Fx2 Lightning Blue, and I love it so far. I wanted a base XL 4x4, but that was a little too much a month for me and my wife. Dealer told me to just get any 4x2 I wanted so I went with the FX2 over a lariat. The truck is great because you can just use the rear lock if you ever get stuck. I live in Southern California, so I won't ever need a 4x4 haha

Just checking out who else has the 4x2 Ranger and show our love. I was trading in my '16 Jeep Wrangler (manual) for a new truck so I started looking at the 4x4 - liked the FX4 package I test drove. Started the negotiations process - FX4 was going to be my Jeep + $5800 - the 4x4 sport 302A was Jeep + $5000. My bride and I really didn't want to part with a whole lot of cash. I was about to call it quits when I talked to my uncle, who owns a timber farm, about his F150 who said he went 4x2 and has only gotten it stuck twice. I had not thought about it and then realized that while I had shifted into 4 wheel mode in the jeep I never did anything that actually needed it. So I called the dealer and asked him how much for the Oxford white, 4x2, 302A, trailer and locking rear diff (this is something my uncle wishes he had). He said Jeep and $1500 and the rest is history.

There maybe somethings I won't be able to do - but I also live in Atlanta so when it snows here we all try and just say home.

I love my Hot Pepper Red 4x2, works just fine for me!

I looked quick and thought it was grocery cart vs. Ranger , which makes me park in strange locations .. But the side steps are for protection at least on mine ..Looks good in blue .

I have a 2wd. Pretty hard to find here in Colorado, pretty much everything is 4wd here. I didn't want a 4wd, I have a Ram 1500 with 4wd and have used it once in 5 years, so the added expense wasn't something I wanted. The Ranger will tow my ATVs to anywhere I could want to offroad, so it just made more sense to get a 2wd.

Hi John,

Only reason I went with a 4x4 was to be able to tow it behind the motorhome which you cannot do with the 4x2 unless you add a transmission pump, which is problematic and likely voids the transmission warranty...

That is extremely valuable information ! I have had clients ruin new cars by towing behind motor homes, just curious industrywide are warnings about this in the owners manuals ?

Hi Chris,

I think this info is at best spoty in owner's manuals. There are several RV magazines that publish a listing of vehicles that can be towed each model year. Motorhome is one of then but there others. You can search the web Dingy Towing and Toad Towing as well..
