Which window rain guards?

Sorry, I may be the only one that makes mistakes. Had not had my coffee yet!

Last fall I removed the rain guards that the previous owner installed which were outside (taped) and replaced with some inside channels because the look is so much better (and way less noisy). I went with the ones produced by Clim Art because they are reliably shatter-proof and from what I could tell had a slimmer profile. The Weather Techs appeared to have more of an outward flare, whereas these are more parallel to the window, but that was just my personal preference. And $20 cheaper.

Those lost to a coin toss when I got my EGR's. Couldn't decide so I flipped a coin. I had a really bad experience with WeatherTech a couple of years ago, so they were out.

Hard to beat the in channel Weather Techs, they work and super easy to install.

Just asking a question, as I've never been in the rain guard camp. Aside from removing smoke (I'm not a smoker) what does rain guards provide that our climate control system can't? I love the fresh air where I am, but dusty dirt roads, sandy/salted roads all kick up dirt. Climate control gives me filtered, fresh, ambient temperature air. Decades ago, I guess I could understand. Again, just trying to understand the other perspective.

I live in AZ and when I park for any time in the sun, I can leave the windows down a bit to vent the heat and not worry about a pop up thunderstorm soaking my interior. They do help filter the sun a bit. Oh, and they look good too.

Never though about parking. I don't park outside much for very long, but I swear by sunshade on windshield. I may have to rethink that with move to SC or similar location.

Mine is usually garaged but when I go out it is nice to have.

I got the weather techs, never a issue, and they are a must have in Oregon.

SC is full! I would recommend Tennessee. Pinto beans are a favorite in SC. Sometimes it is good to let the air out! The Bush bean packing plant is in Tennessee, so the window guards will be needed!

I also use Weathertech in Oregon(rains a lot), but when I find these things useful is when driving in rain with windows cracked open just a bit, also when I want to park just like that. With the rain guards windows looks rolled all the way up(for security).
