To answer your question about the grime. It's road dirt that got kicked up from the underside of the truck and the oily film is also likely from the road and everything is mixing and sticking from a fine continuous spray. If oil were ventilating from your engine it would not "spray" all the way over there. If it did... yowza, you'd be complaining about something else haha.

What the two devices are... I dunno - AIRLINE TECH!! lol. One looks like it's connected to the AC system and the other looks like maybe connected to the cooling system?


ON AN UNRELATED NOTE - I think you're missing a hose clamp here?

It's a plastic hose. Its pressed fit onto the barb.

Weather it has an o ring like it should... Well its ford so who knows.

Mine has some grime but I also hosed it down a few weeks back. But there does look like a film of oil on mine too, enough for dust to collect like yours.

I'm also "missing" that clamp. Looks like a barbed end on that thing as well as the one in front and below this nefarious and dirty pos. =p

I didn't know until last week, it sounds like her parents find it humorous. If it was my kid, I would be embarrassed as hell.

Not a missing clamp - it just looked that way in Robert's photo. In his photo the hose looked loose on that barb, but I think that was just camera angle, and there is a white stripe that to me looked like there was something placed there in the past.

Well the dirty pos is clean now , and it was dirtier than it looked after I wiped all around it, must draw in quite a bit when it's on...didn't show to dealer because when I got there (1st time I drove up to this one ) it just didn't "feel" right , I drove around the service dept ,front and back, as all bays were open and very visible I noticed that the place was a total mess and cars parked WAY to close to each other and 12 year old mechanics running around all covered in grime... I just drove away and got the oil and filter at "O O O, Orileys , Auto Parts" , she's draining as I type...

There is no factory catch can. There is an Oil Separator on the side of the motor.
