Ok latest mystery in my truck
Comes from the passenger side dash with the heat or A/C on or off.
Best I can tell is it starts after the truck is turned off.
Lasts from what I can tell a few minutes, I’ve never sat inside to see how longer it lasts
Heat and A/C both work “fine”. Meaning I don’t recall having the floor vents in some time. And if they are it is very low output.
So the sound posted to me sounds more “electronic”than the mechanical sound posted.
I need to get a clip of it farther back from the dash
Been going on at least a month. At first an occasional soft clicking could be heard from the passenger floor side, now it’s led to this.

Is this that damned blend door going out?
Can I fix it? What’s the cost for the dealer to do it?

Drop the Glovebox down as if you are going to replace the cabin filter.
Turn off the truck and watch - The Air Inlet Door (Rock Back & Forth)

Only 2 - Doors cycle with Ignition cycled to off, Mode (Vent Position) & the Air Inlet door.

The actuator has lost position, can try open and clean or replace.
Plus ensure a Mouse has not brought in debris for bedding and its blocking the door movement.

So - Normal ops - when truck is shut off this door cycles to partially open (venting) Evap Core and it stops, since it cannot find correct position it continues to try to drive it to position, this is the sound you are hearing (rocking back and forth)

This place would be at a serious loss without you! ?

Tried to load a longer video but was not able to. That is pretty much the sound. Does it even with the HVAC off

Do I pull the filter out?
This actuator, where is it? Can I access it pretty easy?
Any idea on the part number?
Would it be obvious to see mice intrusion?

Thanks!

Damn it, I was literally just going to post the exact thread and this thread showed up. Noticed it a few minutes ago after I turned off the truck and was waiting for the rain to ease up. Got just under 10,000 miles left on my Ford extended warranty. Went over 73k last week.

Making appointment to get it fixed ASAP
