2019 XLT / This alert Popped up one day and not knowing any better I could not get it to go away so I ended up shutting off the truck and restarting and that got rid of it.
I have scoured my manual 3 times and do not see what this was trying to tell me? Any thoughts?

Kind of looks like a vehicle is approaching from the side. Did it come up when in Reverse?

Cross traffic alert. A vehicle or pedestrian or some object (I've had hard rain and thick blowing snow set it off too) is approaching, from the right in this case, to cross your path. Should only alert you if in reverse though, as far as I know. If it came up as an alert when you were not in reverse, then something may be wrong. Maybe a sensor malfunction.

In thinking yes it was when the Truck was in reverse. Let me get back into the manual regarding the cross traffic warning and see if that makes sense at all. At least it narrows me down to a particular topic to look for. Thanks Guys!

That is the Cross Traffic Allert. When you put your Truck in Reverse that will pop up with a loud and rapid bing, bing, bing alert tone when it senses a Vehicle coming toward your vehicle from the rear sides. Much different that the Front and Rear bumper proximity warnings.

Though it does use the same sensors.

Bearing in mind that the "Cross Traffic Alert" does not necessarily mean that there is ... "cross traffic."

Does yours give false positives? I've only had it do that for blizzard-like blowing snow and once in a really really hard sideways rain. Otherwise it's always been correct. It goes off, I stop and sit for a few seconds, then boom, ok by goes a guy going way too fast in the grocery store parking lot not caring about anyone else. I find it very handy. Doesn't stop me from actually trying to look, but still nice to have a backup.

something to watch out for if you are in a northern climate, if your sensors ice up, it will go off like that as well. I get free car washes for my vehicle, so in the winter, it will ice up and when I am stopped at a light or stop sign, it will alert. It is annoying, but safety is safety.

Not entirely false positives, meaning that there is usually something physically present causing it to register, but that something is not always crossing traffic. I also find it very handy, and I definitely stop to look around if it indicates something, just in case it is that same "guy going way too fast...."

The BLIS system does this? Interesting. I stand corrected.
Aye it does. There are rear parking sensors as well, but the cross-traffic comes from the BLIS system, the other sensors work solely like the front sensors, only at close range.
